Solution:

On the number line, we see that the shaded region is between -6 and 6, and both -6 and 6 are included. Thus, this region represents the inequality 6x6 . Or, written another way, this inequality is 36 x 36 . Using the patterns we observed in this section, we know this is the solution set of the inequality x 2 36 .
