After taking the GMAT the first time and receiving a 580 (Q44 V26) I was extremely discouraged. I did not think that my dreams of attending a top business school could be a reality with the timeframe I had. With round 2 deadlines less than 45 days away, I didn't think I stood a chance. I stumbled on target test prep's curriculum and it was the best thing to ever happen for my GMAT. I could not have done it without TTP. This curriculum gives you every tool you need to feel confident and ready for the test no matter what level you are at. After all, it's self-paced. Stop wasting your time with the books, Magoosh, or manhattan and get target test prep. You will see improvement immediately and can constantly test your progress. Did I mention its EXTREMELY affordable for what you're getting?! Ultimately I was able to score a 720 after just 5 weeks working wtih TTP. Seriously.. give this a try, you will not regret it.
On top of incredible customer service and assistance whenever needed, Target Test Prep is the most efficient and effective way to prepare for the GMAT. They helped me earn a 660 on the GMAT.
When you are able to get through the hardest level of quant exercises on Target Test Prep with a time limit of 2 minutes, you will definitely master the quant like a pro and have nothing to worry about. Worth the money!
Highly recommend the flexible study plan as it allows you to assess your strengths and weaknesses and develop a comprehensive plan to address them next time you tackle the GMAT! I improved my Quant score by using the resources available in the program along with the expert tutelage offered by the professional staff. I'd highly recommend this program if you’re looking to focus on and improve your Quant! I scored a 660 on the GMAT.
TTP helped me score a 720 on the GMAT. The TTP curriculum is broken down into 20 different modules and includes literally thousands of practice problems covering everything that you will need to be successful come test day. The thing I liked most about the curriculum is how detailed and thorough the explanations and lessons are. Given that I hadn’t dealt with most of the quant concepts in a while, this was a huge plus for me.
I would work through one to two modules a week, and then meet with my tutor via WebEx for a 2 hour session to review and work through different aspects of those modules. During our sessions, he would give me a few problems that would gauge my understanding of a specific topic and, depending on the outcome, we would either work more problems on that topic or move onto the next. I’m not going to lie- in the beginning, the concepts felt way over my head, and I had serious doubts about whether I had the intellectual capability to get the Quant score I wanted. But he was patient and thorough, and over time, things started to click and I began to develop a confidence and understanding that would lead me to the score I wanted. Occasionally, he would recommend that I take an MBA.com practice test. Afterwards, I would email screenshots of all the quant problems to him and we would review and work through any problems I missed during our next session.
I highly recommend Target Test Prep!
Before coming to TTP, I struggled A LOT with GMAT quant. First started with Manhattan Prep's Quant books, and wasted 4 months on them without any progress:(( And then, thanks to God, I came across TTP and used the free 5-day trial. It changed my attitude towards quant completely. I scored a 710 after some hard work with Target Test Prep.
The benefits of TTP over other quant courses:
1. It is the SINGLE STUDY MATERIAL you need to prepare for quant. Whether you just have just started to prepare for the GMAT, or struggled on it for months, TTP is everything you need for quant. The quality of lectures is exceptional; they are short and to the point, and they will teach you all possible strategies and skills you need for quant. You don’t need to purchase anything else.
2. TONS of practice questions. I think the main disadvantage of books like Manhattan Prep is a lot of theory and only 10 questions after each chapter. It is not enough! For GMAT, you need to develop and ingrain the strategies for each type of question deep in your brain, so during the test they will pop out at you like second nature, and for that you need a LOT of quality practice questions.
3. COST. It is definitely cheaper to buy monthly or 4-month subscriptions with TTP than spending couple of hundred dollars on VARIOUS books (what I did), get no results, feel frustrated, and finally get a subscription to TTP. I could have avoided those unnecessary costs if I had come across TTP earlier.
4. Finally, the software is very well structured and designed; it is a pleasure to use such a high quality website.
Speaking of my experience, as I said before, after struggling for few months, I came across TTP and started using it. Since I already had a pretty good basic understanding of quant from the books, I just worked on my weak areas. I created custom quizzes to assess my weakest areas, and then reviewed the lecture materials with video explanations for those topics. After that, I did target quizzes until I was completely comfortable with the concepts. I can now solve complex Probability questions with ease. Before TTP, they were like space science to me.
Target Test Prep has a great number of exercises, great explanations and excellent video instruction. Not only good for learning, but also excellent for boost my self-esteem! My quant increased from 42 to 45 in a few weeks. My overall increased a lot to a 670!
Target was instrumental in my GMAT success. I came to TTP having used multiple other preparation tools. By my second GMAT attempt, I had completed a Manhattan Online Prep course and was still unable to approach my goal score of 700+, a mark I designated as competitive with top programs I aspired to apply to.
TTP was a very organized way to refine my approach to Quant. Using the online material, I was able to utilize the 'accelerated' syllabus in order to quickly assess key areas in which I needed improvement (as well as strength areas that did not need as much attention) with chapter tests of various difficulties. The online chapters do an excellent job of distilling large GMAT concepts down to specific question varieties that could show up on the test. Full coverage of the TTP online chapters ensures that there are no surprises on test day.
I supplemented my online work with frequent touch-points with a TTP tutor through tutoring sessions. He was able to quickly assess my weak areas by finding slight 'wrinkles' to just about each problem type that I would initially stumble on. By de-mystifying these slight variations to simple concepts, we moved at a brisk pace through the chapters as I completed the online coursework. After covering a topic with my tutor, I felt much more confident in my problem solving in that area. It was great to be able to get real-time feedback on my thought processes.
As test day approached, we focused on selected quant areas (ones that I was least comfortable with), as well as reviewing practice tests. He was also happy to weigh in on my verbal practice test performance. Even his informal advice was key in changing the way I approached the verbal section, and I immediately saw sizable verbal gains. For my 3rd GMAT attempt, I entered the testing center level-headed if not slightly excited-- I felt confident, and I had very realistic knowledge of what I was capable of if I executed to my potential. I ended up out-performing my best practice test performance, with a 90-point score increase from my last attempt, putting me comfortably beyond my goal score.
My GMAT score increased by almost 200 points! TTP is perfect for what is needed to improve your score. I know how hard it is to commit to one platform; however, I was in your shoes only a couple of months ago, and I cannot speak highly enough about what TTP provides. The platform offers an easy to follow course structure and covers all content required. It is one of those platforms that has included everything you would need as a student, including well explained content, examples, tests, easy links from the tests to where the content can be researched, and more. The analytics on how I was tracking was first class and certainly helped me know the areas I needed to work on. Strangely enough, I actually started to enjoy studying and challenging myself on each of the tests that were provided. It’s two thumbs up from me!
With the help of Target Test Prep, I scored a 770 on the GMT. My quant increased from 34 (practice test) to 47 (official) after one month of TTP. Highly recommended if you have only a month to study like I did. It's self-directed, which I prefer, and customizable, with very clear explanations and tutorials. A+. I didn't pay for mentoring, but TTP still gave me a call after I signed up for the one-day trial. That was SO helpful in answering my ignorant GMAT questions.
The chapters are long, so I was sometimes overwhelmed given my time crunch, but they're very thorough. I'd recommend taking every chapter practice test and afterward studying only the chapters that you need to study. Plenty of questions to work through.
5 stars because TTP was so helpful and the software allowed me to take targeted test after targeted test, which is how I best prepare. And it didn't cost $1,000 like some of the study classes. That's a plus :)
I was exceptionally lucky to meet the team at Target Test Prep - back when I first started to pursue interest in the GMAT and business school. I had just started to study and had enrolled in a competitor's online prep course. Everything "promised" sounded good on paper, but very quickly I found myself frustrated and confused by the material. No one was actually teaching me, they were just repeating lessons to me. I knew that a change was necessary for me to achieve the GMAT improvement I needed. That's where Target Test Prep came in.
Target Test Prep is the most comprehensive quant course I've taken. Any material I was unfamiliar with, I was re-taught. Any section that I was performing poorly in was identified. Target Test Prep allowed for the most efficient use of my study time. Also, the interface is clean and compatible, which makes a huge difference when you absorb information (even though it may not seem as important). My tutor played a major role in developing the site's curriculum, which was so apparent in our one-on-one time.
MY teacher’s tutoring style, commitment to my success, and advice allowed me to refocus my GMAT attention. I started studying the material that needed the most work and I started practicing GMAT material smarter. Most importantly, he worked with me on a mental level. I know he'll remember when he reads this, but in hindsight, I cannot believe how little confidence I used to have in myself. He helped to change that. It's very easy to say to a person that they have the smarts to achieve something- but it's a hurdle to make them believe it. When any other educator would have dismissed my inner self-doubt as "not their problem," his pep-talks and encouragement over nine months resulted in an about-face of my attitude. I owe a lot to him for all he did for me, and I know he makes just as significant an impact on all his students as he did on me.
Although I worked with Jeff through my entire prep, and owe him so much for help with my attitude and confidence, Scott Woodbury-Stewart deserves just as much thanks. Jeff taught me from the curriculum that he and Scott put together. It made the most sense, allowed me to practice at my own pace while monitoring my progress, and gave me a greater understanding of the material. Had it not been for the course Jeff and Scott laid out, I would still be lost about GMAT material.
Target Test Prep is truly a service invested in the future of their students. Their resources, curriculum, and staff really helped me with my GMAT prep. My GMAT prep is nowhere near over yet; Target Test Prep and I still have a lot of work to do before I have the score I need. But I can say with faith that they are as invested in my score as I am. With Target Test Prep's help, I'll get into my dream program.
TTP's curriculum (developed by Scott Woodbury Stewart) was definitely the key to my GMAT success- allowing me to bring my score up from a 610 to a 680 in less than 4 weeks. I had taken the GMAT twice before TTP- once in Feb 2015 and and again in July 2015. While my score improved from the low 500s to the low 600s after investing a lot of time and money in other test prep resources and courses from other providers, I was still nowhere near my target score after my retake in July. As I began planning my retake strategy (exam set for October), I was filled with frustration, doubt, and even more confusion- primarily because I did not have enough time to start from square one and I did not know where I needed to begin. I mulled over various books, set up time in my schedule every night for practice problems, and searched endlessly for online "action-plans." However, I felt like I was starting over and spending a lot of time reviewing principles that I had already mastered. The TTP online curriculum allowed me to easily identify my weak subject areas, which enabled me to optimize my time with my TTP tutor, rather than wasting time (and money) reviewing concepts I already felt comfortable with. I began the Fast Track curriculum 09/12/15, completing practice quizzes each night, only reading the in-depth chapter explanations if my quiz score did not meet 90% or above. Given my busy work schedule during the day, I did not have much time or energy for exhaustive hours of studying each night. However, the TTP chapters quizzes are short enough for me to complete ~2 per night without feeling as though studying would be a 2-3 hour burden. Once I scored within a specific percentile, I moved on, and in the last week when my test date neared, I was able to skip around each chapter to the concepts I remembered struggling with during my second retake. My tutor was also a core component of my success and, I think, the success of the TTP curriculum. As I mentioned, I invested thousands of dollars in other test prep courses prior to beginning TTP. However, my TTP tutor was able to break down the material and show me short-cuts that were never addressed in other test prep courses. In addition, he was also able to help me identify my most common mistakes (assumptions, math errors, guessing too soon, over-thinking, etc...) that helped me shorten my time, approach questions differently, and improve my overall confidence when attacking the exam. While I am content with my score (still debating one last retake), I will say that I was not expecting the 70 point increase after working with TTP. Like most people, I work full time, and fall is a busy season for me, packed with travel and planning projects for the following year. So while I did have 4 weeks to prepare for my retake in October, I did not have much time to dedicate to TTP. Because of my schedule, I could only work with my tutor at 5:30/6 am, and only had time for a few practice problems each night. Thus, by the last week before my test date, I had only completed ~40% of the online TTP curriculum. My tutor and I spent my last weekend going through concepts I did not have time to complete on my own via the online, but even then- I did not think I put in as much as I needed to in order to meet my target score. However, I was very wrong. On test day, the exam felt easy. I used all the shortcuts I learned on almost every question. I was pleasantly surprised with my improvement over less than 4 weeks. My advice - try it. TTP works. It's simple, straightforward, and the tutoring approach is targeted - exactly what I needed in order to beat the GMAT in a very short period of time.
TTP helped me score a 720 on the GMAT. Here’s my story: In late September, I was beginning to panic about the GMAT. I had taken the test a couple weeks prior and scored a 690, which was "good enough" for most of the programs I planned on applying to, but a little shy of the program median of my dream school, UCLA Anderson. I had seemingly exhausted all of my physical resources and didn't feel as if my quantitative understanding was increasing at any measurable rate. I decided to consult YouTube to try to find some decent tutorial videos on Rate/Time & Probability, which were my main areas of difficulty.
When browsing YouTube, I found some excellent tutorials by a company that I had heard a little about: Target Test Prep. I watched a few of their hour-long lectures and immediately felt that my work problem understanding had improved. At this point, I decided to reach out to the company and inquire if the 10 days I had to study would be sufficient to utilize their Flexible Preparation Plan (month-to-month). I was informed that the company offered a 5-day trial, and that he was confident that it was worth it to invest in a month membership to study for the remaining 5 days. TTP was both encouraging and realistic regarding my goal of a 30-point score increase, informing me that they’d seen similar increases in the past, but that it was still a tall order. The next morning, I was off on my journey with Target Test Prep, cramming as much information as I could.
While I felt lucky to have a fairly strong grasp on most of the GMAT Quant topics, the methodology and teaching style of the Target chapters and study materials proved to be very unique. The ability of their e-book to build on concepts much more intuitively than the competition helped me patch some holes in a multitude of areas, while their unique testing style let me immediately test skills in the recently covered areas and periodically on older topics. This allowed me to reinforce my knowledge while powering forward at a fast pace.
By GMAT-prep standards, the fact that the TTP quizzes are not computer adaptive seemed strange. However, I found this characteristic to be hugely beneficial, as quizzes based on low, medium, and high difficulties allowed me to truly immerse myself in the individual question types as opposed to the CAT model, which may have me answer easier topics in my strong areas only to lead me to extremely difficult questions in my problem areas. Another small but critical detail of the Target quizzes was the accentuated countdown timer on each question that allowed me to continually practice my pacing.
Beyond the curriculum, Jeff and Scott were always in contact with me when I needed help or had any questions. I was able to contact each of them through the Target Test Prep website in addition to frequent e-mail correspondence and a couple of phone conversations with Jeff regarding time management leading up to the test, managing my expectations, and where to focus my limited hours to maximize the effectiveness of the course.
When I went in for my second GMAT, I felt much more confident than I had on my first attempt. There were only a few questions that I didn't immediately understand. This allowed me to spend time attacking the questions themselves instead of trying to decipher how to approach them. For me, that proved to be the difference between my old 690 (Q 44, V 41) and my new 720 (Q 47, V 42). The Target Test Prep instruction and curriculum are entirely to thank for my improved understanding and strengthened quant skills. I now feel infinitely more confident in my test score and am also less nervous about the application process overall because I feel like I now have an extremely competitive score.
After prepping for the GMAT with Target Test Prep, I scored a 730 with a quant score of 49 on my first try. I started to prepare for the GMAT in August and planned to take the actual exam at the end of September. I expected to score high in the verbal section but was anxious about my performance in quant. Target Test Prep helped me understand all important concepts and provided tons of material to master the right techniques.
After digging through the Manhattan Quant books I felt that I needed a more interactive source of study material to stay engaged. My problem was that I would just fly over sections that bored me in the Manhattan books and ended up having no clue how to solve the problem sets at the end of each chapter.
I went on youtube for some GMAT related video material ("Heck, it’s so much better to let someone else do the explaining than reading everything yourself, right?") and found an explanation on trailing zeros - a topic almost completely neglected by Manhattan, by the way. The video was clearly structured and concise. I was super happy to find out that there was an online program made up almost entirely of those videos. The best part was: Target Test Prep offers a free one week trial period, so i was able to check out everything without the risk of wasting any money.
After checking out the program for a couple of hours I was completely sold. I purchased the flexible preparation plan for 4 weeks for a very fair price (much cheaper than all other programs I found and also cheaper than the Manhattan books). There are 20 chapters that elaborate on every possible aspect of the GMAT quant section. Every small theory section is followed by a number of examples (hidden answer and explanations). There is a video explanation for every example, too. All videos are very easy to follow and are well produced. Whenever I didn’t feel like studying anymore I just ended up watching the videos and learned so much doing so. I can only imagine the amount of time needed to produce these videos.
This was exactly what I needed. Whenever I was done with a section I felt like I already almost mastered the material. There was no way to easily forget everything and just go on because you are immediately tested - no more self-cheating ;)
For every single one of the 20 chapters, a collection of easy, medium and hard questions is available. This is a ton of material. Once you are through all the questions (probably not even needed) there won’t be many things left to surprise you on test day.
Speaking of the actual test: I scored a 730 with a quant score of 49 on my first try. Honestly, I felt quite down after the quant section. I had focused most of my study time on the hard questions on Target Test Prep and didn't see anything as hard on the real test - so I figured I had done poorly. Well, apparently I was wrong :) I think it is fair to say that the preparation was so good that I was almost "over-prepared" for the real deal.
Thank you so much guys!
PS: Whenever I had a question about the program, someone helped me out in a matter of minutes. Great service, always felt in good hands!
I hadn't taken the GMAT, nor had I participated in any GMAT prep courses prior to enrolling in Target Test Prep, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Target Test Prep helped me focus on exactly what I needed to, with easy-to-follow solutions and explanations. Most of the problems not only contain text solutions, but also video solutions to provide further insight. The material is incredibly user friendly, including a real-time dashboard to help track progress and identify areas of improvement. The best part: there aren't any heavy books to carry around, since it's entirely online. I improved my score substantially and earned a 600.
Thanks to Target Test Prep, I got the personalized program that I needed to work on my weaknesses in Quant and finally get the GMAT score (700) of my dreams. When I decided to prep for the GMAT, I tried countless techniques. I went on forums, completed the Official Guide, and finished the Manhattan GMAT program. Despite those activities, I was still below my target GMAT score. TTP turned everything around for me. I had a great experience with TTP.
I scored a 720 on the GMAT, and Target Test Prep helped me nail down the fundamentals of the quant section and boost my score. If you are good at self-study, TTP is definitely the best GMAT Prep program that I know of!
With TTP’s help, I scored a 690 on the GMAT. I couldn't have been more satisfied. Here’s a bit of my story. Lacking a traditional business background and proven quantitative experience in a professional setting, I knew it was very important for me to have a strong quant score on the GMAT, to show the schools I was applying to that I could handle their quantitative curriculum. Target Test Prep was the perfect way to focus my studies on areas in which I really needed help.
TTP helped me increase my GMAT quant score from a 42 to a 48. When I came across Target Test Prep I felt like I was going in circles with other material I had purchased. I only had 2 weeks left of studying until my test and hadn't felt I had improved much since I took the GMAT the first time. After 2 weeks of studying every day on the TTP program I was able to score a 48 Q up from a 42 Q previously. Such a great product!
With Target Test Preps help, I scored a 730 ( a 250 point increase over my first score) with a quant score of 47. Target Test Prep was a great resource for practicing each of the difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard) for each of the quant topics (number properties, probability, etc.). For example, I was terrible with probability questions of the higher caliber (those that blend combinatorics with probability) and was able to use Target Test's vast library of difficult questions to really "get the flow down" of these question types. The explanations that my tutor and his team have are a great resource for tracing your way through a problem and pinpointing your mistakes...they didn't have the video resources when I first signed up but once they added the videos, it made the learning process much more concrete and understandable. Ultimately, I went from a 480 with a horrendous quant score of 20 to a 730 with a quant score of 47. Target Test Prep is a great resource but, as with all studying, you will get out what you put in! Work hard and crush it!
For over a year, I have been preparing for my GMAT. When I first started my prep, I came to the realization that it would take much effort and motivation to achieve a high GMAT quant score, and thus I set out to find a GMAT math course that would help me improve my math skills. In July 2015, I enrolled in the Target Test Prep GMAT Quant course. This course allowed me to really understand GMAT Quant like I never had before. Furthermore, I was astonished to see my quant score rise from an 18 to 36 in practice GMAT exams after completing just a few chapters in the Target Test Prep Quant course. I also have been incredibly happy with my interactions with Scott Woodbury Stewart and Jeffrey Miller. They have always been available to answer all my questions, and I have really benefited from their positive and caring attitude! Although I am not tutoring with Scott or Jeff, I love the fact that I can reach out to them with a question, and I always get an immediate response. At the moment, I am still preparing for the GMAT and studying with Target Test Prep Quant course. Although I do have some more time before my actual GMAT, I believe that with the support and professionalism of the Target Test Prep’s team, I will be able to achieve my GMAT goal! I recommend the Target Test Prep Quant course to anyone preparing for the GMAT. Target Test Prep will help you to quickly and effectively prepare for your exam!
Working with my TTP tutor was the best thing I did to get the GMAT score I needed. Prior to purchasing the Target Test Prep program, I had been using a different method and was feeling extremely hopeless and frustrated about the exam. The Target Test Prep course was extremely helpful for me because it allowed me to practice questions from each topic, both in between and at the end of each lesson. Additionally, I met with my tutor once a week for about two months. He was very helpful. I was able to ask all questions I had, and at the same time was challenged to think critically about the problems I was given. With the help of Target Test Prep and my tutoring sessions, I made really good progress and ultimately was able to reach the score I needed for the GMAT.
I am a self-admitted math hater. Every mathematical subject in school I either squeaked by with a C- or failed and had to have many summers' worth of extra work and tutors. I would strongly recommend the TTP course because it breaks down every subject to the basics and provides a strong foundation for people who have been away from high school math subjects for a while. I started off with the Kaplan test prep book and software and it really left me with more questions than answers. Once I found Target Test Prep and went through the $1 trial I knew that it was exactly what I needed. THEY EVEN SHOW VIDEOS OF HOW THEY SOLVE THE PROBLEMS! This is a no-BS review as well. I normally do not write reviews for anything, but my tutor asked me to write a review if I was satisfied, which as you can see, I am more than satisfied with this platform and with the creators. I congratulate them for paving new ground in the test prep field.
My TTP tutor was amazing! I have met very few people so passionate about their job to the point of truly caring for my improvements and results. I always got quick responses to any questions I had, he kept me motivated and pushed me when things got harder and overall helped me with strategies and anything GMAT related. I wouldn’t have improved 40% on my quant without him.
I met my tutor after trying several methods and programs to improve my GMAT quant score. I do not use math in my daily life, and it had been a while since I last studied it. The TTP curriculum really made a difference in my understanding of what each question is asking, and it gave me the tools I needed to approach each question with confidence. TTP is not about tricks and shortcuts about how to get around the GMAT, but it teaches you in a clear way everything you need to know math, related to succeed on the test.
TTP GMAT Quant is a superior GMAT math course. Don’t waste your time using any other online course – this is the real deal! After preparing with Target Test Prep, I scored a 710 on the GMAT. In addition, my score improved more than 100 points from my prior GMAT. Also, if you sign up for private tutoring sessions, the teachers are very flexible and patient with students – they allow students to make mistakes without judgement or criticism. Definitely recommend to my friends and anyone else out there looking to find a great quant program.
Best of luck to everyone out there trying to do the same!
My experience with Target Test Prep was great! My tutor was so helpful and willing to accommodate my busy schedule for my tutoring sessions. The online curriculum is unlike any I have ever seen and is so user friendly. I was very impressed. I absolutely love the whole design of the program they offer. I was able to increase my score in just a month's time and am very pleased. I can’t recommend TTP enough!!
I came crawling to Target Test Prep, humbled by my second attempt at the GMAT. I had prepped and prepped for months, ended up with a score that was worse than my first crack at the test. On a path to obtain that 700 benchmark, I knew my Quant skills lacked in both consistency and knowing how to approach every problem with the right approach.
Target Test Prep changed the game for me - an ultra-clean layout, a super-easy way to follow the course, and, ultimately, the closest thing to the GMAT itself that I ever worked with.
In any other course I took, I always felt like the focus was on the extremes of the concepts, and based on those extremes, I never really grasped the concepts themselves. TTP gave me the general step-by-step approach on everything, knowing exactly how to see the difference in difficulty when I was ready for it.
My scores spoke for themselves- I walked in confidently to every pre-test, scored consistently in the 700s (when I had never crossed that barrier before, ever) and I walked away with something I’m proud of, all for a price much lower than anything else on the market that’s comparable.
Target Test Prep’s materials are notably more comprehensive and helpful than the other GMAT prep resources I used. The team at Target Test Prep was willing to work within my schedule and saw me all the way through the process. Highly recommend their services for anyone who needs specific help or a full review! It’s unusual to find a company that is so good at what they do and at the same time so down to earth and student-centered.
Target Test Prep - Talk about a game changer!!! Before Target Test Prep, I felt lost and hopeless, and that no amount of practice was going to change my score. Target Test Prep gave me hope and personalized a curriculum that helped me achieve the score I needed. In a short period of time, I was able to master so much GMAT material. My confidence and my excitement grew with each passing day. Learning actually became fun because I knew that I was making the progress that I was not able to make in the past. Thanks Target Test Prep!
After working with Target Test Prep I scored a 740 on the GMAT (42 Verbal, 48 Quant, 4.5 Writing, 6 Reasoning). How good was Target Test Prep? The results speak for themselves!!
GMAT round 1. I took my first GMAT in early April, 2015. Leading up to it, I worked extensively in the Princeton Review book with the vast majority of my time being spent on practice problems. I weighted my verbal/quant practice at about a 40/60 split, respectively, noting that my math skills needed much more help than my verbal/writing. I think I spent about an hour a day for a month in total preparing for my first GMAT - obviously not the most in-depth preparation...and the score reflected that.
Round 1 scores: 39 Verbal, 42 Quant, 5 Writing, 7 Reasoning with a 660 final score.
GMAT round 2. Not being satisfied with my 660, I vowed to redo the GMAT. Noting that my verbal score put me almost in the 90th percentile, I committed my time exclusively to the Quant section. I wanted a better study method and came across Target Test Prep. I was impressed right away with the ease of use of the website and the way that the material was structured. I also liked the instructional videos. Books are great but, for a person like me, it is often helpful to see the pen-strokes and have the logic conversationally broken down. I spent 10 weeks intensively using the website, working through the material for my worst subjects and working 30-50 practice questions per day. Overall, I probably spent 75 hours on the site between June and August.
The big breakthrough came for me when I started doing custom tests. It's easy to go through a chapter and then do the practice questions immediately afterwards, because you are mentally primed to jump those mental hurdles. I think it's actually a disservice to you to go about it that way. I recommend a 50/50 split in your time if you use TTP. Spend half your time working through your weakest chapters and learning/understanding the concepts. Spend the other half doing custom tests with a variety of questions so that you’re having to shift the mental gears that you’ll have to shift on test day - practice like you’ perform.
As I stated earlier, I exclusively committed my re-study time to the quant section using TTP. I retook the GMAT in mid August and came out with the following scores:
42 Verbal, 48 Quant, 4.5 Writing, 6 Reasoning with a 740 final score. The results definitely speak for themselves.
Here's the thing about the GMAT: no two people are going to take the same path to a high score. You need a personalized, customized approach, and that's what TTP provides. My tutor spent the time to understand my strengths and weaknesses and then focused on the areas that were easiest to improve. In many instances I knew how to solve the problem but my tutor taught me a shortcut to shave off a few valuable seconds. I would definitely recommend TTP if you're aiming for a high score.
We all know that creating a bulletproof study plan is as difficult as it comes when we are taking the GMAT, at least that was the case for me. I wanted to find a way to track my progress based on my errors and to create as many quizzes as I could based on my findings. Target Test Prep was the perfect resource for me to accomplish everything I wanted to study. I struggle with standardized tests and always have. Boosting my confidence and skill-set for the Quant section of the GMAT was accomplished through TTP. My tutor was also extremely helpful and attentive during the time I was signed up for TTP. He has even continued to follow-up!
I do have to take the test again, but with Target Test prep I am armed and ready to go. If you are looking for quant specific, targeted practice...TTP is definitely the place!
As far as I am concerned, Target Test Prep is the best resource for GMAT Quant preparation available. TTP helped me score a 49 on Quant!
I started taking GMAT mock tests after a bit of self-study, and I was around 36-37 in Quant. That bothered me and I started exploring some more effective methods of learning. I referred to many books and purchased some online material. Although these tools helped me to cross the Q40 mark, I was still struggling to get an excellent score (in the range of 47-51).
I came across the Target Test Prep course for Quant preparation through the Beat The GMAT forum and took a trial. I love the way the entire course is organized. The course takes you from the easiest concept from your high school days to the toughest question you can expect on the GMAT. I truly enjoyed the course. There are also several tests for every chapter to give you an insight into how much you have actually grasped. These tests are arranged in increasing order of difficulty. This will indeed boost your confidence. Also, for every question or example, a clear explanation is given to help you understand the concept.
Overall, I really loved and enjoyed the course. I took the GMAT after one month of taking this course and ended up with a satisfying Q49. I highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone aiming for a high score in the Quant section of the GMAT. As far as I am concerned, Target Test Prep is the best resource for GMAT Quant preparation available.
Seriously, I have taken EVERY GMAT prep program you can think of and Target Test Prep was the ONLY one from which I gained substantial results. If I had to do it all over again I would have started with TTP and saved myself so much time and frustration.
My tutor worked with me from start to finish. He was patient and continuously followed up with me when he could tell I had questions but did not want to ask. He also gave me various resources to help explain concepts I could not understand. My math percentile went from 54% to 70% after taking this prep program.
My TTP tutor did a great job helping me strategize and concisely and effectively learn the math material for the GMAT. The classes move at a great pace and the practice problems they utilize are outstanding practice compared to the ones you’ll find on the real test. I used their services for the math section only and my percentage points shot up nearly 40%. I highly recommend this course for you; you will not regret it. TTP is truly and outstanding company.
Target Test Prep GMAT Quant is a wonderful resource for anyone preparing to take the GMAT. While it covers every topic on the exam, it also is very easy to adapt to fit your personal needs. The breakout between topics is very understandable, and the examples provided are excellent. There is also a huge number of practice exams on every topic covered in the GMAT; the course is amazingly helpful.
My TTP tutor was excellent as well, and in 10 short weeks we managed to get my score up from a 610 to 650. This tutoring program is very flexible in working within the student's schedule, and my tutor made the topics a lot easier to understand. He was also valuable in helping me learn where to prioritize my time and energy. I highly recommend the Target Test Prep GMAT program.
Before Target Test Prep, I started out using the Manhattan GMAT books. My problem was, I didn't feel like they gave me the opportunity to put the content into practice with difficult problems. A friend recommended Target Test Prep, and I'm so glad I made the switch. The format is great for reinforcing the content because there are easy, medium, and difficult problem sets at the end of each chapter, so you really master the material before moving on. The ability to drill different problem types was key. In the weeks leading up to my test date, I took a bunch of practice tests and focused in on my weakest content areas. With Target Test Prep, I could drill down on those problem types and work my way up to the most difficult questions. The chapters are also extremely comprehensive - I felt like they covered every possible iteration of a problem type. The GMAT is all about pattern recognition, so understanding how to tackle different iterations is super important. Even without finishing all the chapters and I jumped from a 39 to a 47 on quant and a 730 overall.
I could not be happier with my experience with Target Test Prep. I recently took the GMAT for the second time and improved my score from a 690 to a 760. I had been tutored by a competing (large, well-known) test prep company before my first exam, and I can say with confidence that TTP was a much better resource for me. The website is excellent, and clearly a lot of effort has been made to provide easy-to-understand solutions to every problem. I particularly liked the video explanations, the ability to tailor your problem sets, and the concise, clear TTP lessons. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking to improve their quant score.
After studying for several months for the GMAT, I received a disappointing 670 with a quant score of 42. In practice, I was nailing the easy questions, but couldn’t translate that understanding into medium or difficult quant questions. Target Test Prep gave me the raw skills I needed by playing into my strengths and allowing me to tackle my weaknesses. I loved being able to learn a concept and test it out with several GMAT-style questions. I also appreciated being able to write my own tests to reinforce concepts I struggled with. Ultimately, I received a 46 quant score with a 720 overall. That’s a 15 percentile point increase in seven weeks! TTP’s software is intuitive and the short lessons make concepts easier to grasp. I’d recommend Target Test Prep to anyone without a strong quant background hoping to achieve a high quant score.
I completed a full Manhattan GMAT course and only scored a 40 in Quant (670 total) when I took the test for the first time. I improved significantly from the beginning of the course in Verbal but was extremely frustrated with my lack of improvement in Quant, even though I focused my studying heavily on the Quant section. I stumbled upon Target Test Prep and read a number of Target’s testimonials of people who were in a similar situation and used the site to significantly improve their Quant score. I decided to give it a try and was immediately impressed by the thoroughness of the curriculum. The curriculum walks you through all of the basics, a strategy for solving each type of problem and all of the various ways the subject may appear on the GMAT. The amount of material was overwhelming at first but the curriculum is brilliant in how simple it makes difficult questions seem as it walks you through each step. They also offer a huge library of practice questions on each subject, with explanations for each one. I also complemented my independent study time with tutoring with TTP, which was a huge help to keep me moving along and highlight key points. I exclusively studied the Target curriculum and practice questions and did tutoring for 5 weeks before taking the GMAT again and improved my Quant score to 48 (730 overall). I couldn’t believe how much I was able to improve in such a short period of time.
After studying on my own for nine months with no major improvements in my GMAT score, I was able to raise my score by 70 points after six weeks with TTP’s help. We met twice a week for one-on-one tutoring, and my instructor led me through the easy to use curriculum. After using several different GMAT prep companies’; materials, the Target Test Prep system was much more useful in my GMAT preparation. The curriculum is thorough and easy to follow. The large volume of study materials is often overwhelming with other programs, but my instructor was able to break down each lesson into consumable chunks with the format Target Test Prep follows. He tailored our tutoring sessions to target my weaknesses and structured my study sessions in between. Overall, I was happy to have found Target Test Prep to finally hit my target GMAT score. Great curriculum, great design, great content, and great instruction. I wouldn’t have gotten into my number one school without TTP.
I worked with TTP to increase my consistently weak quant score. Initially very skeptical of the web-based tutoring idea, I quickly found it both efficient and very personalized. It was as effective as having someone come home and privately tutor me. My tutor picked up on my weak areas very quickly and provided me tons of drills/tests/problem sets to improve timing and accuracy. I had taken Manhattan GMAT before signing up for TARGET and will say hands down don’t waste your time with Manhattan GMAT. The amount of material (lessons and quizzes and problem sets available online) with TARGET is way better, in addition to the quality of instruction.
After taking the exam twice, I was very discouraged and knew that I needed to make a huge change in how I approached the exam - Target Test Prep was that change! TTP was instrumental in helping me increase my score by 70 points, getting me to a score I would've never been able to achieve on my own. The Target Test Prep program is extremely comprehensive and provided me with the very detailed explanations I needed to approach every Quant question type included on the GMAT. The knowledge base that I gained through that program gave me the confidence that I needed to go in and beat the exam! Outside of the program, working with my tutor directly was extremely powerful for a number of reasons. 1) He was very accommodating, waking up super early or even moving around appointments to make time for my sessions 2) He was dedicated to my success, consistently checking in on my progress and texting me unanticipated practice questions to keep me sharp and 3) He was encouraging giving me personalized advice to help build my confidence in my ability and provide me with the juice I needed right before test day.
I would highly recommend TTP to any student looking for the key to getting a great score on the GMAT! Working with TTP was a huge advantage for me!
With the help of the TTP GMAT Quant Course, I score a 760 (Q50) on my first try! I HIGHLY recommend Target Test Prep for any and all Quantitative preparation for the GMAT. Whether you are taking the first step on the journey of GMAT self-study or trying to identify key weaknesses and be as efficient as possible in the last week of your study, the volume of the TTP material and clarity of the explanations were exactly what I needed. I was able to work questions on every part of the spectrum of difficulty, and OnTarget was a very helpful resource that identified topics or types of problem in each lesson I was consistently missing. TTP was awesome!!!
Target Test Prep GMAT Quant prepared me to enter the test with confidence. In addition to teaching me a number of new concepts and strategies, the course helped me to quickly determine my weaknesses; I was able to see clear patterns in what I was consistently getting incorrect. I was then about to focus my study efforts many similar problems that the course offered. In addition to using the TTP GMAT Quant Course, I also used a TTP tutor for a few hours to help me to further strengthen my abilities. My experience with TTP was great!
Working with Target Test Prep to prepare for the GMAT couldn’t have been better. In just three weeks I improved my GMAT quant score by 10 points and overall GMAT score by almost 100 points! Prior to working with TTP, I had studied on my own to take the GMAT and after being waitlisted at a Top school, I knew that improving my score would help strengthen my application. Working full time, it was hard to get the energy to study and make the most of my time. My Target Test Prep tutor really pushed me and made everything seem so much more manageable. Even though I had used all of the “top” GMAT books to study, including the Manhattan guides, my tutor was able to teach me strategies and techniques that I had never seen before. These strategies made all the difference for me. I met with my tutor for three hours for three weeks and he gave me additional Target GMAT material to get through during the week to improve my skillset and time management. His targeted practice questions were invaluable and his teaching manner was patient and VERY encouraging. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who needs some structure in studying and is looking to improve their score significantly. Once I learned the shortcuts and strategies that my tutor taught me, it was almost fun to do the GMAT questions, feeling like I was actually beating the GMAT! My tutor is super knowledgeable about quant strategies, which is what we focused on. He was always available if I had a question and super supportive as I am a nervous standardized test taker. Even with a time crunch, my tutor was able to gauge my weaknesses and really focus in on areas that would significantly improve my score. I highly recommend Target Test Prep.
After working with Target Test Prep, I scored a 740 (Q47, V45) on the GMAT. Prior to working with TTP, I scored a 640 on my initial diagnostic GMAT Prep test. From the 36 that I received on the quant section of this practice test, I knew I had to focus my efforts on raising my quant score. To give you some context, I studied languages in college and am a Spanish teacher, so the verbal section was my strength. However, I haven't taken a math course since my senior year of high school (which was 8 years ago), so I really needed to review the content covered on the quant section.
I started studying in February with the Manhattan GMAT strategy guides. About a month into studying, I concluded that while I was making some progress using these guides, I wasn't learning the content as well as I needed to for the quant section. I needed material that covered each topic more in-depth and had more practice problems for me to try. I got in touch with Target Test Prep through the Forte Foundation. I got the $1 trial of the TTP GMAT Quant Course and found that it covered each topic in great detail, had tons of useful practice problems, and was easy to follow. I could also frequently check my progress on the content by creating tests with easy, medium, and/or hard questions for particular chapters.
I began working with a TTP tutor one hour per week via WebEx during the 2 months prior to the test. He was great at pinpointing the underlying skills that are needed for success on the quant section as well as offering really helpful strategies to increase efficiency on the test. As I talked through my approach to problems with him, he was able to identify where I was going wrong and help me shift my thinking to solve the problem in a more logical and systematic way that could be applied to similar problems. Each week I would try to cover as much content as possible on my own using the Target Test Prep GMAT Quant Course. I completed almost all of the example problems in each chapter to make sure I was taking a thorough approach to covering the content. Then, I would check in with my tutor about my progress during our weekly tutoring session and he would cover content that I felt like I needed more help on. In particular, his approach to number properties helped me immensely on the actual GMAT quant section because a good chunk of the quant section is based on a strong understanding of number properties.
Overall, the shift in my studying approach helped me to study smarter. I think the key to my score increase was studying the content covered on the quant section in depth, and the detail and structure of the Target Test Prep GMAT Quant Course helped me to do that immensely. Getting useful tips from my tutor every week also helped give me more tools in my toolbox to get through each problem under the time constraints of the GMAT. I strongly recommend the curriculum and instruction that Target Test Prep has to offer. It stands out because of its detailed and personalized approach that maximizes learning. Good luck!
After working with TTP, I was able to improve my GMAT score by 80 points, enough of a boost to get accepted to Stanford GSB. Prior to working with TTP, I used some of the bigger GMAT test prep programs, without much success. TTP has put together a great program that goes through each math category really thoroughly. The course is very organized and methodical, and most importantly, the course is focused on the type of methods and math knowledge that translate into points on the exam. I had a great experience using TTP to prepare for the GMAT…
After taking the TTP GMAT Quant course, my GMAT score increase by 150 points with only three weeks of preparation. My Quant alone increased by thirteen points! There is no telling what my score would have been if I had more time to prepare!
Since I am no Einstein, I was so shocked at my new results. So, I researched some statistics. According to many different blogs, only 10% of Test Re-takers receive a 100 point or higher increase. I work 45-50 hours a week and still made this high of an increase. I studied on every lunch break, two hours on week nights, and a total of 8 hours on the weekend. This course makes it easy to organize a study plan with print outs, calendars, and personalized study plans for your target score.
This course is the only thing you need to knock the GMAT quant out! Be a part of the 10%. Invest in yourself by taking this course!
I discovered Target Test Prep through the Forte MBA Launch program. After attending one of the TTP webinars through Forte, I found that TTP’s methodology suited me. I spoke to a TTP tutor a few times and then decided to sign-up for the TTP GMAT Quant course. After using the course, my GMAT score increased 40 points!!
Some background: I started studying for the GMAT in the summer of 2013 by taking a math class with Manhattan GMAT and two full courses with Veritas Prep, before I sat for the exam in 2014. However, despite these classes, my work schedule was incredibly hectic and I only scored a 590 after all my initial study. My quant score was a lot lower than my verbal score. While both the Manhattan and Veritas companies are good, I needed to first conquer the basics of Quant. I had to learn to crawl before I could walk. Additionally, with my demanding consulting job I did not have time to prep as I was constantly working and/or traveling.
After taking a practice test in January 2015, I saw that my score was still in the 500s. In February of 2015, I signed up for TPP and started self-studying on the weekends by going through all the easy questions to make sure I learned all the basics. I was also working weekends so it was a challenge to balance the two. However, I could see myself improving. I finally re-took the exam in May 2015 and my score jumped to a 630. My quant score alone increased by 6 points, which I attribute to all the practice questions I did on the TPP site. The content on the website is well organized and easy to find. Based on my prior knowledge, I read some chapters in detail and skimmed others. I did run out of time to practice all the medium and hard questions before my exam and will continue doing so as I want to raise my score before I re-take the exam one last time.
I took the GMAT in early May and scored a 49Q. I am over the moon and beyond thrilled with my score, and I owe a lot to this company, and my friend who referred me to them. The content is clearly written and organized, and the practice questions are challenging and numerous. It was exactly what I needed to prepare well for Quant.
My GMAT journey: I took Princeton Review’s in-person class during summer 2014. I studied diligently for 6 months with Princeton Review, then I decided to take the test in February 2015. I walked out of it without finishing because I knew I was doing terribly on the quant section and would not be able to finish successfully. The Princeton Review material was useful, but the quant material doesn’t go far enough in-depth, and the practice questions are not difficult enough, in my opinion. I was pretty depressed about the test at this point. My friend then referred me to Target Test Prep. I spoke to Jeffrey for about an hour on the phone to re-orient my morale and be introduced to Target Test Prep. I signed up. I decided that I did not need one-on-one tutoring, because I felt I could teach myself the material and test-taking skills. Also, I think the material is very clearly explained. I used Target Test Prep from mid-February to mid-May. I studied 10-14 hours a week consistently. I went through the chapters one by one, rebuilding my quant foundation. Some material was of course repeated from Princeton Review, but a lot of it wasn't and it made me realize how much quant material Princeton Review glosses over. On test day, I did not struggle at all with the questions! I wish I didn’t waste money on the Princeton review class and found this company sooner!
I could not have been happier with my experience with my Target Test Prep tutor. Before I began my tutoring I had taken the GMAT once and did not get the score that I needed. I was under a very tight time constraint the second time around in order to get my application in. My tutor was accommodating around my schedule and made all the difference in my score. With just two weeks to work together we made as much head way as possible. I could not have asked for more.
Before working Target Test Prep, I had taken a Kaplan course and found that it was not personalized enough to fit what I was looking for. With my Target Test Prep tutor, I was able to focus on what I needed the most help with and immediately noticed improvement. With the help of my tutor I got the GMAT score I needed and was able to apply before the deadline. TTP was a huge help, and I honestly would recommend it to anyone studying for the GMAT.
I should have been so lucky to have been taught math the first time in high school with as much clarity as Target Test Prep did for my GMAT. In my preparation for the test, I spent approximately 15 hours working with my wonderful Target Test Prep tutor, in addition to reading every chapter of the online material and doing nearly every practice problem.
The online Target Test Prep website clearly explained algebra/geometry/probability concepts in a way that eschewed teaching the reasoning behind how/why approaches work, instead rightfully focusing on the quickest way to solve a problem. This is a key differentiator than Target-s larger competitors and high school math teachers. (After all, when in business school would one ever really need to know *why* some triangles have similar angles to others?) Moreover, the humorous example and practice problems - usually involving pirates, karate, and/or dairy products - added some levity to the otherwise tedious process of studying for the GMAT math portion. Target was also kind enough to grant me access to their new slick mobile-friendly platform which was in beta at the time, allowing me to rip through practice sets on my iPad while on the train to work.
Most important to my success though was the time I spent with my tutor Jeff. Though we met remotely via Skype and GoToMeeting, the interactive whiteboard made it as easy as if he were sitting next to me. I really appreciated Jeff respected my time and money by quickly figuring out what subjects I most needed work on, and then focusing our tutoring time on those. What I most appreciated, however, is that Jeff never made me feel like an idiot when I didn-t understand something the first time he explained it or made a careless arithmetic error. Unlike when I studied for the LSAT with one of Target-s competitors several years ago, Jeff always respected my intelligence and encouraged me to solved problems in a different way than prescribed by the course material if it made more sense to me that way. Getting the problem right quickly was always more important than doing it the -Target way-.
Overall, I could not be happier with my Target Test Prep experience. Jeff and Target took me from the 660 I got on my first practice test to the 710 I ultimately scored on the real thing - high enough to be admitted to Oxford Business School! As such, it is no understatement to say that without Jeffrey Miller and Target Test Prep, I would not be about to fulfill my long-held dream of earning my MBA at one of the best programs on the planet.
Let me start by saying that I have tried other GMAT prep materials, and I can definitely say that they can’t compete with those from TTP. Here’s my story: After several weeks of struggling with the quantitative section of the GMAT, a friend of mine strongly recommended that I use Target Test Prep. What a great decision! As soon as I began working with TTP, my dismal progress turned around, and I was able to make great progress.
In the TTP GMAT quant course, all the topics are very well detailed, and the huge amount of realistic exercises helped me to quickly establish the correct mindset necessary to solve GMAT questions efficiently
I not only improved my GMAT Quant skills, including learning rules and tricks extremely useful to earning a high score, but I also developed the confidence, time-management, and stamina necessary to face the GMAT.
Eventually I was able to increase from a 40 to 49 in the Quant section and this was entirely due to my preparation with TTP. I highly recommend them.
Target Test Prep helped me increase my score on the GMAT further than I could have hoped! My tutor was extremely helpful and made the learning process easy. I could not have had a better experience than I did using this program. I used the TTP GMAT Quant program and boosted my score an entire 190 points in just four weeks of studying! Target Test Prep is amazing and my tutor was equally outstanding. I truly can’t recommend TTP enough!!
After studying on my own for about 1 month, I took the GMAT and scored a disappointing 540. I knew I needed help and luckily I found the team at Target Test Prep. I gave my TTP tutor the monumental task of helping me achieve an overall score of at least 600 within the next 3 weeks. He was honest with me and set my expectations but gave it everything he could to help me meet my goal. We met for about an hour every day for the next couple weeks. His combination of patience and tough-love style were just what I needed. With his help, I ended up scoring a 620, which was a huge improvement in such a short time. I'm now in talks with Wharton for my Executive MBA. It may not be a monster score, but they are happy to see such an improvement in so short a time. I'd recommend the services of TTP to anyone who has a challenge in front of them but is willing to work hard. Thanks again to the Target Test Prep GMAT team! It was a great experience working with them!!
After two disappointing attempts at the GMAT, I knew I needed a fresh set of resources and was lucky enough to discover Target Test Prep. Along with its online quant course, I had one on one tutoring sessions with a TTP tutor and eventually raised my quant score from a 32 to a 42! My tutor was incredibly supportive, encouraging, and ultimately helped me overcome any test anxiety or fears I had on my previous attempts. I could not have achieved my target score without TTP. I can’t recommend them highly enough! If you have struggled with the GMAT and/or are using a big name prep course that you are not satisfied with, give TTP a try!
I worked with TTP over the course of several months to prepare for my GMAT exam. It had been about eight years since university, so as you can imagine, my skills were a bit rusty. My tutor was an awesome coach and mentor, and over the three and a half months of preparation, my score improved by over 120 points! I highly recommend Target Test Prep for private GMAT tutoring.
Before using Target Test Prep, I studied for about six months using one of the big test prep programs. I worked hard. I took its online classes. I did all its practice questions. I took its sample tests. Even with a substantial amount of focused effort on my part, I continued to score poorly on my actual GMAT Quant section.
A friend recommended Target Test Prep, and I started using its quant course. I instantly found Target Test Prep’s material to be more in-depth and provided more accurate, difficult practice questions. The TTP course was superior to the other course I used prior. As a result of investing my time into the TTP course, I was better prepared to tackle the actual questions that came up on the actual GMAT. Ultimately, my Quant score increased a lot, placing me in the 70th percentile, exactly what I needed to balance out my high verbal score. I would definitely recommend TTP to anyone who is studying for the GMAT.
My experience preparing for the GMAT with Target Test Prep was wonderful. My tutor was very responsive, encouraging, and honest throughout my entire preparation for the test. After taking test prep courses from some of the larger companies, I was looking to get more focused attention. TTP provided this personalized and focused attention that I needed. In addition, I used the TTP Quant Course, which was by far the best GMAT prep course I’ve seen. With the focused tutoring and the comprehensive online course I was able to improve my quantitative score and overall GMAT performance by 70 points.
I would recommend Target Test Prep and their tutoring services to anyone who is preparing to take the GMAT or looking to improve their current GMAT scores.
Target Test Prep clearly laid out lessons helped me identify areas to focus on, and their custom designed tests helped me reinforce those lessons. I found the layout very intuitive and the prep absolutely helped me more than any other GMAT prep I tried.
I recently studied for the GMAT with the help of Target Test Prep online. Before working with TTP, I had used, and been less than happy with, three different GMAT tutors from other prep companies. However, my experience with TTP was great. My TTP tutor was a great teacher, who knew the GMAT inside and out. He was very professional and was able to clearly explain many different types of GMAT math concepts. He was patient and helped calm me down when I was frustrated. I also used the TTP GMAT Quant course, which is an online self-study course. Using this course in tandem with private tutoring was a perfect combination. I have used almost all of the GMAT prep materials on the market, and the TTP Quant course offers what is BY FAR the most clear and comprehensive discussion of GMAT math concepts that I’ve ever seen.
In the end, with one month of study I scored a 700! I am very happy to have worked with TTP and recommend it with the highest regard.
Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course has helped me improve my quantitative score a lot. The course itself has a great structure. It has a methodological approach in the way it presents information. The aesthetics of the website are great. It works great on my tablet. The chapter tests were also very beneficial in my learning experience. On another note, the Target Test Prep tutor was great. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and not to mention flexible with my schedule. If you are looking at increasing your quantitative score, this is the course for you. I can’t say enough great things.
I’ve used just about every GMAT prep curriculum out there and nothing comes close to that of Target Test Prep. There is no fluff in the Target Test Prep material. It is simply straightforward GMAT concepts broken out by topic, and each topic immediately gets to the meat of what you need to know. There is nothing as good as TTP - period.
In addition to using the TTP Quant course, I met with a TTP tutor every few weeks for supplemental instruction. He focused me on the most important concepts (where I would see the most profit). My quant score went from 44 to 48 within a few short months. I ended up with a 720, which was 20 points beyond my goal! If you’re studying for the GMAT, do yourself a favor and use TTP. You will not regret it.
From the moment I sent Target Test Prep an email asking for more information about the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course, TTP was awesome! A tutor immediately got back to me and made me feel extremely confident in TTP’s ability to help me increase my GMAT score. I worked with this tutor, and my experience was perfect! He broke down complex concepts and problems into manageable pieces for me. As a result, I was able to learn the material better than I ever had been able to before; the material just popped…
The TTP Quant Course that I used to supplement the private tutoring was equally as amazing. It covered everything with great clarity. Furthermore, it provides ample realistic questions to practice with. In summary, TTP was exactly what I needed to boost my GMAT score. I would definitely recommend Target Test Prep for private GMAT tutoring and for its amazing GMAT Quant Course. You will not be disappointed – TTP helped me a lot!
Target Test Prep really helped me increase my GMAT quant score. I used a competitor course before using Target Test Prep and the difference in quality of both the course work and teachers (tutoring) was significant – TTP was awesome! I received focused tutoring on the areas in which I needed the most work. Additionally, I found the course work to be straight forward, manageable, and effective. I would definitely recommend the TTP program to anyone who is looking to increase his or her GMAT quant score. TTP helped me a lot.
If you are serious about performing well on the GMAT, you have got to hire and work with Target Test Prep. The TTP teaching methods and prep materials blow the competition out of the water. Having spent hours reviewing other test prep companies and having used one of the so called "best" ones out there before coming to TTP for help, I can honestly say that Target Test Prep far surpasses any other test prep company in the market.
When I started studying for the GMAT I knew that the math section was going to be tough. I studied political science at Syracuse University for my undergraduate degree and hadn't touched a math problem since high school. I started out trying to self-study, but it was incredibly frustrating when I had questions, and since I had been out of practice for so long a lot of the material made assumptions about what I already knew. My confidence was low and my progression through the material was slow and inefficient.
Working with Target Test Prep helped me more than I thought possible. My tutor began by rebuilding my math foundation and then used that foundation to attack the problems. He tailored a plan that addressed my weaknesses and enhanced my strengths. Once my skills and comfort level with the material increased, we started working on speed and strategy. The end result was an increase in my score by over 100 points from the day I started with Target Test Prep.
I have since achieved my MBA and currently work with numbers every day, where I still apply much of what I learned from Target Test Prep. I absolutely recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to improve their skills and their scores.
After preparing for the GMAT with Target Test Prep, I was able to score a 720. The help that I got from TTP was critical in my GMAT success. At the time, I was living and working in Rwanda, and this made me worried that I would be at a disadvantage as I prepared, but after finding TTP I was able to construct a solid study plan. My instructor worked very hard for me, and after a lot of hard work, I felt fully confident on exam day. Thank you TTP for being so accommodating with the time difference and poor internet, and keeping me sane and focused throughout the process!
I recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to perform well on the GMAT. TTP is fully-invested in the success of its students. Unlike a lot of GMAT tutoring companies that just want to get paid, TTP WANTS you to do well; they want you to succeed; they do everything they can do to make it happen for you. They made it happen for me.
My tutor knew specifically what I needed to learn to beat the GMAT. He was very knowledgeable, organized, efficient. He provided me with outstanding GMAT study materials. He also keep a close watch on my progress. I had a great experience with Target Test Prep.
Target Test Prep helped me increase my GMAT score 120 points. I can't say enough about how great the GMAT tutoring sessions were.At first I was a little timid to begin the sessions, but as we got started, I was blown away at the progress I made and at the amount of dedication my instructor put into each session. He customized a plan specific for me to meet my goal for my GMAT score. My scenario was unique in the fact that I already took the GMAT once, and needed to take the GMAT again in just a few months time before the application process was due.I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone. They worked great with me and truly cared about my success.
The personalized GMAT tutoring from Target Test Prep helped me increase my GMAT score by an astounding 140 points in 2 months and helped me get into my first choice MBA program! I can confidently say that I would not have accomplished these goals without the help of Target Test Prep. My instructor was outstanding. The Target Test Prep GMAT materials are outstanding and are put together in a way that is very easy to absorb and understand. I am so happy and so proud to say that I beat all expectations come test day and was accepted to my school of choice! I could not have done it without the help of Target Test Prep. When I decided to pursue my MBA, I had no idea what a challenge I would have with the GMAT. Admittedly, I didn't have a strong foundation on the Quant side, but I expected that with a dedicated effort leading up to the test, I would be able to accomplish my goals through self-study. Despite cramming for a month before my first test attempt, my result was a disaster. Not only was I struggling with Quant but I also had been overcome with test anxiety. Though the rest of my application had been well received by my first-choice school, my poor GMAT score was going to be a deal-breaker. That's when I decided that I needed to seek tutoring. I was looking for someone who could not only teach me the concepts that I was struggling with but also help me develop confidence in my understanding of the concepts to help me overcome my test anxiety. I searched and reviewed a number of tutors before finding Target Test Prep. After reading other reviews, I felt confident that this company would be a good fit for me. I'm not someone that was looking to jump from a 650 to 700+. I was targeting a score in the 600's and I was a long way off due to issues stated previously. I was desperate and hopeful that my instructor would be the key to accomplishing my goal and gaining acceptance to my desired school. It was not an easy road to say the least, but my instructor was very patient with me and knew exactly what concepts I needed to build on. The Target Test Prep GMAT materials are put together in a way that is very easy to absorb and understand. Studying their notes helped organize the Math concepts in my mind in a way that made it easy for me to access my knowledge on test day. I am so happy and so proud to say that I beat all expectations come test day and was accepted to my first choice of school that I was losing hope on before I came across Target test prep. I so badly wanted to get into my first choice and I can confidently say that I would not have accomplished these goals without the help of Target Test Prep. My instructor was very effective in identifying my strengths and weaknesses and developing an action plan for my success. He was extremely patient and encouraging throughout the process. I believe that his help and encouragement was the key to my success. His encouragement and genuine confidence in my ability led to me becoming more confident in myself. The combination of hard work with tremendous support, strategy, and effective coaching allowed me to increase my GMAT score by an astounding 140 points within 2 months. Thank you TTP!
After preparing with Target Test Prep, I scored a 740 on the GMAT. The Target Test Prep Math curriculum is the holy grail of GMAT math prep. It has all the material you can possibly ask for as well as thousands of practice questions to hone your skill and timing. It takes a long time to get through the material, but doing so diligently is well worth the effort. On the contrary, other big name GMAT prep companies have very little material that you can get through quickly and will only help get you a mediocre score. Additionally, TTP tutors are amazing and will make themselves available to you at your convenience; they will be with you every step of the way. If you are in the market for a private GMAT tutor or for a GMAT self-study course, I highly recommend Target Test Prep.
I cannot recommend Target Test Prep highly enough to anyone looking to improve his or her GMAT score – it made a huge difference for me! When I started preparing for the GMAT, I hadn't taken any math in about ten years, so I wasn't just refreshing my memory – I had to learn almost everything from scratch! The Target Test Prep GMAT Math self-study course was an invaluable resource, providing both a road map of topics I needed to cover and wonderfully detailed problems and processes explained in very simple, logical terms. It's GMAT math, nothing more and nothing less. Even with the amazing TTP GMAT self-study course, it was the one-on-one tutoring that really made the difference for me. My tutor tailored each lesson according to my abilities, but challenged me and made sure that I really understood the material and how it might appear on the test. By the time I took the exam, not only was I capable of actually doing the math involved (which was not the case a year ago!), but I was also able to recognize question types and common traps and use that information to my advantage. Additionally, the Target Test prep self-study math course provided a great opportunity to work on various topics by myself in a timed environment similar to that of the actual exam. My tutor was also well-informed on the various resources available from GMAC, and was able to suggest the most useful, cost-effective options, which was a big help in allocating my time and money.
After taking a big name GMAT course and not scoring what I wanted on the GMAT, I decided to look into private tutoring. I began working with Target Test Prep, and after working together for 3 months, I raised my GMAT score 90 points. It was money and time very well spent!! I highly recommend Target Test Prep. During my first session with my Target Test Prep tutor, I knew I had found the right fit. By the end of the session, he was able to pin-point my problem areas and make me feel comfortable and relaxed. Target Test Prep has their own GMAT math self-study course, which is an incredible resource included in the price of private lessons. The course was able to clarify concepts in a way that my other resources were not. I found myself understanding things more fully because they were explained better. On top of that, the one-on-one sessions with my tutor cut to the heart of the material quickly and efficiently. My tutor not only helped to improve my quant skills but he also offered me realistic advice about my approach to studying and my expectations.
In a little over a month, Target Test Prep helped me increase my GMAT score by 70 points. Most importantly, my GMAT quantitative score went from a 40 to a 47. I attribute a large portion of my success to his outstanding teaching and to the amazing Target Test Prep GMAT self-study course. I met with my instructor online. Our online tutoring sessions helped me to reinforce and enhance the key concepts and strategies that I was learning from his book. Initially, I was a little hesitant about the effectiveness of online tutoring sessions, but they ended up being great! The online aspect also created more flexibility for my schedule. In turn, this allowed me to study more efficiently.
My instructor was great at pin-pointing my specific deficiencies and at turning these knowledge gaps into strengths. Additionally, he showed me how use my specific strengths to maximize my GMAT score.
The GMAT prep materials that I used were second-to-none. I used the Target Test Prep Quantitative Guide to the GMAT. This online learning system breaks down the quantitative concepts to a level that almost anyone can understand. Furthermore, the concepts are covered more comprehensively than the materials of any other company. There are multiple ways that the GMAT can test the same concept; this makes the test very difficult. The online learning system did a great job covering all of knowledge and thinking skills I needed. Whether you struggle with math or are attempting to raise an already high score, TTP's system caters to the needs of all. As a result, because I practiced with better materials, I was better prepared to take the test. I HIGHLY recommend Target Test Prep for anyone attempting to increase his or her GMAT score.
After finding lackluster results with other big name companies, I started preparing for the GMAT with Target Test Prep GMAT, and I can't say enough good things about this company. After working with them, I took the GMAT and got a much higher score, and I got into Wharton and Stanford, which is my dream school.
My GMAT instructor was an extremely patient and understanding teacher, something I really needed after a year of beating myself up and feeling defeated by the GMAT quant portion of the test. Each time that we met, he taught me something valuable and directly applicable to raising my GMAT score. He ensured that I was on track outside of our lessons by giving me a plan to follow and practice problems to work on every week. Everything we did was systematic. I always understood the strategy and mechanics behind everything.
My instructor was able to dig into why I was not performing: in my case, I knew all of the material cold and could do problems perfectly outside of the test, but once I got into a test environment, my performance floundered. My instructor honed in on the problems I had under the time pressure of the GMAT. It turned out that I was struggling with making silly mistakes because I panicked under pressure, and sometimes understood problems incorrectly. He worked closely with me to fix these two issues. He also improved my test-taking confidence and eased my test anxiety by giving me tests to take each week.
I can't say enough about the Target Test Prep GMAT prep materials. These materials are designed so that I could study easily on my own without my instructor's guidance. The reading and practice problems were well laid out, well-explained, and organized by type. This made the quant material much easier to absorb.
Target Test Prep really set me up for success. My story has a happy ending; my perseverance paid off: I took the GMAT and got a much higher score, and got into Wharton and Stanford, my dream school. I can't say enough about Target Test Prep. If you can, you should work with them to prepare for the GMAT.
I really enjoyed using the Target Test Prep's online materials. The chapters cover an immense amount of material and offer tons of practice problems. I particularly liked how each chapter was broken out on a specific topic. Additionally, I loved how each chapter had an overview section followed 50-250 practice problems that ranged from easy to hard and included Data Sufficiency examples. This allowed me to concentrate my focus on only the areas I was struggling. The material was easy to navigate and is written in such a way that it's easy to understand. My first two scores on the GMAT were 570 (39 on math) and 530 (42 on math). After I changed my study routine, coupled with additional focus on the math chapters in Target Test Prep's book, I was able to achieve a 670 (46 on math). If you are need of math help on the GMAT, I highly recommend using Target Test Prep's online material.
After having taken the Manhattan GMAT course, I was only able to increase my quantitative score by 3 points (10%). Working with Target Test Prep's private tutoring services allowed me to get customized help in my weak areas. My tutor was knowledgeable about the GMAT, very professional, and extremely flexible. When I was studying for the test, work was very hectic. He was able to adjust and meet with me around my schedule. The GMAT prep we did was customized, so we did not waste time and focused on areas that were my weak points. He was able to provide me with tips on how to handle problems I often struggled with. The program helped me increase my quantitative score by 6 points (20%)!
I tried a variety of books before joining Target Test Prep. Target Test Prep's self-study course does a great job of simplifying complex topics and breaking things down into easy to understand concepts. The material is very comprehensive, and highlights tips on how to handle difficult questions. Although there is a lot of material to digest for the GMAT, the course does a great job of providing the skills necessary to master tough questions.
After working with Target Test Prep, my GMAT score jumped 80 points. I went from a 640 to a 720 (94th percentile). I had outstanding instructors who conditioned me to excel. Furthermore, the curriculum was really effective at identifying and improving all my weak areas, and tightening up the areas I was already comfortable with. After working with Target Test Prep, I went into the GMAT totally confident, and my preparation really paid off. I would definitely recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to excel on the GMAT.
I cannot say enough positive things about Target Test Prep, my instructor, and the GMAT self-study course material they offer. The instructors are the best in the industry, and the curriculum is brilliantly put together and helped me enormously. After working with Target Test Prep for 5 weeks, my GMAT score went up 90 points from my first test; I was thrilled. The personal attention Target Test Prep offers is critical for maximizing your potential on the GMAT; I HIGHLY recommend!
Over the course of 5 weeks leading up to my first test, I did 5 hours of 1v1 tutoring and spent about 30 hours reviewing their chapters and completing the included practice questions. My preparation time did not allow for a comprehensive overview of all "testable" material, but my instructor worked with me to outline a custom-made strategy to put me in the best position to be successful. My instructor was amazing, and the curriculum is brilliantly put together; it helped me enormously. I ended up with exactly my target score of 650 (on my first attempt), which was a 40 point jump over an official GMAT practice test I took 1 week earlier, and a 90 point jump from the first practice test I took before I began working with my instructor 5 weeks earlier. The 1v1 time was extremely important in terms of exposing my weak spots (which I otherwise wouldn't have picked up from just practice questions) and the Review Questions offer extensive opportunities to "drill." In our last session, my instructor identified a particular shortcoming on Exponents (which ended up being 8 or 9 of the official exam questions I had). Had he not caught that, and implored me to re-review the chapter, I'd have been bludgeoned. The personal attention TTP offers is critical for maximizing your potential on the GMAT; I HIGHLY recommend.
By the time I decided to go back to grad school, I only had 1 month before the application was due for the coming Fall term. Before this, I never took the GMAT exam nor had I studied for it. I quickly ran to the closest book store and grabbed the self-teaching GMAT guides to start my journey. After one week of looking through material I have not seen for the last 10 years, I knew I was going to need some help studying for this exam in only one month. After visiting a few local tutoring businesses and searching online, I finally came across Target Test Prep. At first I was questioning the online format instead of a live tutor, however I could not have asked for anything better! After learning more about the services I quickly contacted Target Test Prep and was set up with a tutor. My tutor presented the information in a manner that was clear, concise, and completely tailored to what I needed in that 4 week time frame. He provided me with the exact structure and expertise I was looking for in a GMAT tutor. The self-study course material that was provided was better than any of the other competitors and the online test center was user friendly and very helpful when preparing for the exam. After only 4 weeks of work with Target Test Prep, I was able to not only blow past my goal score but to also exceed the admissions average set by my University. I could not have asked for anything more from Target Test Prep. For anyone who is taking the GMAT, I would highly recommend using this service!
I work in the offshore oilfield industry. Thus, I am required to spend days away from home. Further, my geographic location made it difficult for me to attend a class or find a tutor in person. I tried working by myself for whatever little time I could get and continuously managed to stay stagnant at 620. I needed a 700 at least! My research led me to Target Test Prep. By then, I knew my weak areas and with my instructor's experience and efficient teaching style, we got a lot covered in just 10 hours! My Quant score improved from 38 to 49, and my final GMAT score was 700! Ultimately, I was accepted to Harvard Business School. I found my instructor to be a very committed and disciplined teacher. These qualities are important, especially when doing most of your tutoring online. He was always on time and well-prepared. Needless to say, his experience with the GMAT was staggering. I highly recommend Target Test Prep to those who want to earn a fantastic GMAT score.
The difficulty of Target Test Prep's questions along with their comprehensive study guide and outstanding instructors helped me to refine my GMAT skills and increase my GMAT score by 110 points. I locked in a very satisfying 45 on the quant section. I am confident that my decision to work with Target Test Prep for my third and final GMAT attempt turned out to be the right one. With their help, I was able to reach the goal I set.
I spent two long years preparing for the GMAT in Shanghai, China. During the first year, I struggled to achieve my GMAT goals, having very few reliable options available. After two failed attempts, I knew that my prep would benefit from a program in the U.S. That is when I sought out Target Test Prep.
Target Test Prep did an outstanding job helping me plan and prepare to break the 700 mark on the GMAT. I highly recommend TTP to anyone who is seriously considering applying to a top ten MBA program and needs a 700+ GMAT score to get in. The TTP tutors are passionate about what they do, and it shows. After working with Target Test Prep, I scored a 710 (46 Quant, 42 Verbal, and 92nt percentile overall). Furthermore, I was accepted to Columbia Business School.
I have Target Test Prep to thank for an outstanding GMAT score. After working with Target Test Prep, my GMAT score jumped from 590 to 710. Before I worked with TTP, I spent 3 months trying to memorize every tip and trick in about 4 or 5 GMAT guidebooks produced by other companies – this was worthless. As a result, I had an awful first test-taking experience. After this, I sought the help of Target Test Prep, and I'm happy to say that it was worth the wait. My tutors were extremely knowledgeable and flexible with my busy work schedule. I'm very appreciative of their patience with my frustrations with the GMAT material. They crafted a personalized approach to my GMAT study. All of the TTP material we used was adjusted to my unique strengths and weaknesses. The combination of TTP's GMAT material and online tutoring sessions enabled meto make an impressive improvement, especially in the quant section. I went from being completely lost and unconfident to knowing exactly how to approach each GMAT question. I could not have made such a significant GMAT score improvement without my TTP tutors.
Working with a Target Test Prep tutor, I was able to significantly increase my GMAT score by 40 points, placing me in the 92 percentile. I scored a 710 overall.
I had previously taken the GMAT after only self study and received a disappointing score. Working with a Target Test Prep tutor, I was able to significantly increase my GMAT score by 40 points, placing me in the 92 percentile. I scored a 710 overall.
After spending just a few short weeks with one of the Target Test Prep tutors, I was able to increase my verbal score from the 43rd percentile to the 74th percentile. This brought my GMAT from a 610 to a 670. I couldn't have been more excited when the score flashed up at the end of the test. Target Test Prep will definitely help you identify your areas of opportunity and figure out the best ways to utilize your time while studying. I am happy to say that I was accpeted to my dream school of HBS and I wouldn't have been able to do it without them!
After working for a month with Target Test Prep, I was able to increase my GMAT score from a 490 to a 580. My tutor created a structured study plan for improvement, and together, we executed that plan. My tutor motivated me and held me accountable for my learning. He allowed me to accomplish objectives that I would not have been able to accomplish on my own. Since he believed in me, I believed in myself. Overall, the coaching I received was outstanding, and as a result, I was able to increase my GMAT score almost 100 points.
Target Test Prep's private tutoring services are top-notch. The focused attention you get as a student is what will really push you to the next level on the GMAT. My tutor was professional, extremely knowledgeable about the GMAT, and flexible. He often worked around my schedule and was very courteous. Most importantly, he knew how to motivate me to study and how to help me get over my fears about the GMAT. When test day came, I felt confident and ready. What I liked best about Target Test Prep's tutoring services was how they customized my GMAT education just for me. My tutor helped me identify which areas in the Quantitative section I was weakest in, and he was able to explain each concept in a clear, concise way that made it easy for me to understand. He was able to pinpoint the exact reasons why I was missing certain Quantitative questions and helped me come up with a strategy to conquereach question. He motivated me to practice each question until I was comfortable and those questions become second-nature. Target Test Prep has exceeded my expectations and helped me push my Quantitative score from a 39 to a 48. I couldn't be more satisfied.
With the help of Target Test Prep, I raised my GMAT score from a 610 to a 710. Prior to working with Target Test Prep, I would never have had the tools to score in the 92nt percentile on the GMAT. I worked with my tutor for 10 weeks. During that time, we were able to pinpoint my weaknesses. Despite being a person who loves logic puzzles and despite having an analytical mind, I would often come across tough GMAT problems that I could not efficiently solve. Soon enough, these tough GMAT questions became much easier, and I was able to recognize consistent patterns in both math and verbal questions. In short, my GMAT math and verbal skills increased substantially. Believe it or not, I also had a good time during the tutoring. I was nervous that it would be dry and boring, but my tutor made the whole process quite enjoyable. If your goal is a high GMAT score, I'd recommend Target Test Prep!
I highly recommend Target Test Prep for GMAT tutoring. I came to TTP with a 650 GMAT and finished with a 740 GMAT!! My quant score alone jumped from the 50th percentile to the 85th percentile, all thanks to the GMAT prep I did with TTP! My tutor knew the GMAT inside and out and was able to teach those skills to me. Also, he was very flexible and accommodated himself to my changing work schedule. I worked with TTP for 25 hours over six weeks. In that time, we covered all the GMAT math subjects and had time to return to subjects that I struggled with during review. We went at my pace and focused on the issues I was weak in. TTP has a fool-proof method for covering every subject and all the tricky question types that the GMAT can throw at you. Thanks to TTP, I now have a GMAT score I am proud to submit to any business school.

From the very beginning, my tutor thoroughly and accurately assessed my needs as a GMAT test-taker. I was quite pleased with his close communication with me, delivery, and follow-through. Overall, my experience with Target Test Prep was great. I have recommended my TTP tutor to other students who are studying for the GMAT.

The teachers at TTP surpassed my expectations. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking for a competitive advantage on the GMAT.
I scored a 700 after preparing with Target Test Prep. Before this, I had scored a 560. My tutor gave me the insight and strategies that I never would have obtained on my own. My web-based private tutoring sessions were easy to schedule and were customized to cover the material that was most valuable for me (this is very different from the way some GMAT companies perform their tutoring). Although there is a seemingly unlimited amount of material covered on the GMAT, my private tutoring sessions allowed me to not only learn a wide array of important GMAT content, they also provided me with valuable GMAT insight and intuition that allowed me to form connections to and develop strategies for problems that would have otherwise been unsolvable for me. As with learning most things, there is no substitute for an actual teacher who can use his experience to help you learn something new and complicated. The teachers at TTP surpassed my expectations. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking for a competitive advantage on the GMAT.
After working with Target Test Prep, I was able to score a 710 on the GMAT. TTP's innovative one-on-one web-based tutoring is by far the best way to prepare for the GMAT. I was able to meet with TTP tutors more often and focus more on the GMAT material. Unlike other tutors, who treat you like you're just a face in the crowd, my tutor really cared about my progress and kept my confidence up, even when I doubted my abilities. My tutor was extremely flexible and adapted the material to my unique strengths and weaknesses. We were able to efficiently hone in on the high-value GMAT material I needed to master. All of my studying and hard work with TTP really paid off! I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who is preparing for the GMAT.

Target Test Prep was exactly what I was looking for in a test prep provider. The result of my experience with TTP was a Quantitative score increase from 46 to 48, contributing to an overall score improvement from 680 to 760 (99th percentile at the time). I highly recommend Target Test Prep for both those starting in the middle and those starting near the top, desiring to reach the summit.
Self-studying to a 680 GMAT though wanting a 700+ led me to seek out some help. Other test prep providers' offerings were non-appealing and absurdly time-consuming. Target Test Prep was exactly what I was looking for in a test prep provider.
A truly individualized approach - TTP asked the right questions, identified my weak points, and aggressively sought to improve them. If you're reading between the lines you'll notice they didn't waste any of my money or (very) limited time on subjects in which I was already strong. Additionally, my tutor's knowledge of the GMAT allowed him to know exactly where to focus our sessions, improving my comprehension of the material without fail.
The result of my experience with TTP was a Quantitative score increase from 46 to 48, contributing to an overall score improvement from 680 to 760 (99th percentile at the time). Although gains are hard to come by when you're already scoring in the top 15%, TTP can not only help those starting near the median, but also help those already performing at a high level in joining the top tier of test-takers. I highly recommend Target Test Prep for both those starting in the middle and those starting near the top, desiring to reach the summit.
Target Test Prep is the reason why I was able to exceed my target score for the GMAT. Before using Target Test Prep's tutoring service, I was consistently scoring in the lowest percentile for math. If you want to achieve your GMAT goal, Target Test Prep is the only way.

After working with Target Test Prep my GMAT math skills soared. Prior to working with TTP, I took one of the well-know GMAT classroom courses. Unfortunately, this company's materials and teaching just didn't prepare me well for the actual GMAT. As a result, I was ready to give up on the GMAT. Thankfully, I found Target Test Prep. After 10 hours of private tutoring with one of the Target Test Prep GMAT tutors, my confidence went up, and I gained the important extra boost I needed to not give up and to keep studying for the GMAT. I would definitely recommend Target Test Prep's GMAT tutoring to anyone who is facing the GMAT.
After working with Target Test Prep, my GMAT score rose from the 42nd percentile to the 74th percentile. I would recommend Target Test Prep's GMAT program to anyone. Working with Target Test Prep gave me a much deeper insight into the GMAT. I had taken the test twice before and found my score around the 50th percentile. While I conducted a lot of self-study time, I could not raise my score. I found Target Test Prep, and began working with a tutor the very same day. I quickly found that while I understood the concepts, there were many instances where I didn't understand the whole spectrum of the material. After working with Target Test Prep, my GMAT score rose from the 42nt percentile to the 74th percentile. I would recommend Target Test Prep's GMAT program to anyone.
Target Test Prep is the best thing to happen to GMAT prep in a long time. Before finding Target Test Prep, I had worked with a tutor from one of the larger GMAT prep companies. Although I found this tutor to be knowledgeable, her teaching skills left something to be desired. I never quite felt great about the GMAT material, and I always felt that I was missing something important; I could never consistently crack GMAT problems. This was extremely frustrating since prior to my GMAT study, I found high-level success in my personal, academic, and professional lives. It was maddening that I could not find success on the GMAT. Luckily I found Target Test Prep through the recommendation of a colleague. Upon my first meeting with Target Test Prep, I knew that this company was different. The person with whom I spoke worked hard to understand me in great detail. We spoke about my strengths, weaknesses, goals, and fears. At the end of the conversation, he set me up with one of the company's GMAT tutors. This tutor was a perfect fit for me, and working with this tutor was the best thing that could have happened to my GMAT prep; it literally turned the tide of my study. My tutor was exceptionally knowledgeable; he knew the GMAT material and the test inside and out. Everything we covered together made sense. His explanations were clear, concise, and infinitely helpful. Concepts that were once enigmatic at best became lucid and logical. Everything we covered seemed to be of high- value for the GMAT. From the very first lesson, I was able to apply my new knowledge and skills on actual GMAT practice questions. Over the course of our tutoring together, I made steady progress that was reflected in my increasing scores on practice tests. I always felt that my tutor cared about me and about my goals, and I always felt that I received white-glove service. Ultimately, with the help of Target Test Prep I was able to reach my GMAT goal. It was a wonderful feeling to master the GMAT material and to prove to myself that I was capable of scoring in the top percentiles of GMAT test takers. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to master the GMAT. Target Test Prep was my most valuable asset while preparing for the GMAT.
After working with Target Test Prep, I scored a 720 on the GMAT. I don't believe that I would have been able to earn this score if it were not for Target Test Prep. In fact, I wish that I had found TTP sooner!
Before working with Target Test Prep I took a prep class with another GMAT prep company but did not earn the GMAT score I wanted. I knew I needed to raise my score so I turned to TTP. My TTP tutor and I worked together for a couple of months. We went over just about every type of math concept that I may see on the exam. When I took the GMAT again I felt extremely comfortable and prepared. The questions were now very easy for me. I have no regrets about spending the time and money - it was all well worth it. Thanks again for your help.
After working with Target Test Prep, my GMAT score increased 100 points! Because of my tutoring with Target Test Prep, my actual GMAT exam was easy to work through, and it was much less stressful than the first time I took it.
I found Target Test Prep after spending months preparing for the GMAT with a popular, national GMAT prep company. I was frustrated with the company's lack of attention to detail and lack of personalized service and teaching. In addition, I was frustrated with this company's curriculum. Although difficult, its materials did not seem to be applicable to the actual GMAT.
Working with Target Test Prep was a wonderful change. I did weekly tutoring sessions with one of its tutors. During these sessions, my tutor showed me scores of realistic and applicable GMAT practice questions. We used these practice questions as case studies. In addition, my tutor presented me with powerful information, including formulas, strategies, and global test knowledge. After a few weeks, I began to see significant improvement in my GMAT skills and practice test scores.
As a result, my overall GMAT percentile score increased 32 percent, and, yes, my actual GMAT score increased 100 points! .
Thanks to the help I received from Target Test Prep, I scored a 710 on the GMAT after only three months of study. My tutor knew the GMAT inside and out, and he provided me with effective one-on-one tutoring in the areas that I needed the most help with. Every moment of my tutoring sessions was efficient, strategic, and quite enjoyable. Working to excel in a demanding full-time job while supporting myself made finding time to study for the GMAT a formidable task, but my tutor was incredibly accommodating to my hectic schedule. Target Test Prep really is one of the best kept secrets in GMAT preparation.
My tutor's method of teaching was clear, straightforward, and he challenged me with each lesson. I quickly became proficient in the areas in which I was struggling. When I retook the GMAT my score improved, and I have since been accepted at my first choice business school. I would not hesitate to recommend Target Test Prep.
My initial GMAT results were not sufficient, and I knew I needed a tutor. Because of international work-related travel, I was not sure whether working with tutor would even be possible. I spoke with a tutor at Target Test Prep, and it was clear that he understood my needs and would work with me to accommodate my schedule. We worked together over the Internet using a tablet, screen sharing software, and Skype. Target Test Prep's web-based tutoring worked better than I could have imagined, and I was able to continue my GMAT lessons while traveling internationally.
After working with Target Test Prep, I scored a 730 on the GMAT, which was almost a 130 point increase over my prior two GMAT attempts (I scored in the low 600's twice after self-studying). I would strongly recommend that anyone who is serious about getting a great score on the GMAT work with Target Test Prep. After months of self study followed by a 3 month course with one of the "elite," well-known companies, I found that while I could get certain types of problems right, my understanding of the various GMAT topics was not deep enough to earn a high score. However, after working with my instructor at Target Test Prep course I was really able to master the material and saw almost an instant increase in my score. Aside from the rapid improvement in my test scores, I found working with my math and verbal instructors to be a very rewarding experience. They undertook a systematic approach to first understand where my weaknesses lay and then to come up with a strategy to eliminate them. We worked together to build my knowledge base through the web-classes (which, by the way, I found much more effective than any in person course I have taken). Their GMAT prep material was excellent. I found their personalized teaching process to be far superior to many other test prep courses that focus on guessing strategies. Their commitment to see me succeed helped me to develop more confidence in my test taking abilities and contributed to my improved performance. That fact that the homework questions were written by the instructors themselves really differentiated the learning process relative to other tutors I have worked with in the past. The questions are designed to tests concepts and not just certain types of problems. When I took the test on test day I found myself able to extrapolate the concepts from my classes and apply them to test problems very easily. All in, not only do the instructors really understand the material but more importantly, they are fantastic teachers and I really wish I had learned about their services sooner!!
After previously taking the GMAT and being dissatisfied with my score, I turned to Target Test Prep and can't say enough about how effective their tutoring was in preparing me for the test. My math score improved by 25 points, placing me in the 40 range in quant. The unique techniques employed by Target Test Prep enabled me to understand and comprehend concepts that previous test prep companies were unable to accomplish. The personalized lesson plans and homework catered to individual issues and allowed me to master my problem areas. I am more than satisfied with my results and confidently recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who needs assistance in preparing for the GMAT.
I was so glad when I found Target Test Prep. Their flexible yet tailored approach help me overcome obstacles I had been having from the start. Their knowledge on the test paired with keen observation of my own personal learning style helped me improve my score and feel more confident on test day. My only wish is that I would have worked with Target Test Prep sooner!
After enrolling in a competitor's GMAT math Refresher course and struggling through GMAT studying on my own for a month, I finally decided it was time to invest in tutoring, but I didn't want to utilize the services of the well know GMAT prep companies as their style had always felt too cookie-cutter for me.
Choosing to seek the help of Target Test Prep was the smartest decision I could've made while applying to graduate school. With the job market becoming so competitive, I decided it was important to obtain my MBA. After reading through several GMAT books, it became apparent that I was going to need the help of an expert if I was going to achieve the score I wanted. I was searching for tutoring services online when I came across Target Test Prep. I was a little skeptical of being tutored online, and since I never used Skype before, I was a little intimidated. I quickly found out that the process couldn't have been easier. I was able to download Skype for free in a matter of minutes, and logging on to the tutoring session was really simple. After my first session, I realized online tutoring was much more convenient than doing it in person. Since I am a working professional, I can really appreciate the flexibility they offered, and it was great not having to leave my home for the tutoring session. After reading through a few GMAT books, I realized that there was a lot of information I had forgotten from high school. Target Test Prep was able to refresh my memory in a simple and organized way. If I had not taken advantage of these tutoring services, I don't think I would've been able to even finish the Quantitative section on the day of the test. Instead of being frustrated during my GMAT, I was cool and collected because I knew I had the tools I needed to answer every question with confidence. To get into the program I wanted, I needed a 470. After a month of tutoring with Target Test Prep, I scored a 580 on my test. Needless to say, I am extremely happy that I chose Target Test Prep to help me prepare for the GMAT. If going to graduate school is something you really want to do, don't take the risk. You should definitely seek help, and I strongly recommend using Target Test Prep.
Working with Target Test Prep, I scored in the 91st percentile on my GMAT. I had taken the test before, but I crashed on the quantitative section because I ran out of time. My tutor not only helped me boost my understanding of the subject matter, he showed techniques that helped me complete the section quickly while staying accurate. My tutor was responsive to my learning style, skipping over the basic introduction to the concepts and helping me with valuable test-taking strategies. The next time I took the test, I nailed it. With Target Test Prep's help I was able to get my scores up and was accepted to University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
I tried self-studying for the GMAT: I bought a bunch of books, and even took a class, but neither were able to get me the score I wanted. Then I found out Target Test Prep. The instruction was not the typical broad, general overview of what's tested on the exam, but rather was targeted to my specific areas of weakness. With their help, I was able to boost my score from 570 to 660.
I scored over a 100 points higher on the real GMAT than I did on my diagnostic test.
Working with Target Test Prep was an excellent experience. When I initially reached out to them, I was overwhelmed with the GMAT. I had purchased study course from another company and it was not delivering results; I was frustrated. In my initial conversation with a TTP Tutor, we discussed my personal goals and the tutor recommended a strategic study plan. I immediately felt a sense of relief.
Within the first 5 minutes of our first session, I realized that my tutor brought his "A" game. He really knew the material, and more importantly, could explain it in bite size bits. The software he utilized to teach was user-friendly and also enabled us to cover a great amount of material in a short period of time. Together we covered a lot of GMAT material. His style of teaching began with the fundamentals and then expanded to illustrate the different ways in which the GMAT tends to ask the same concepts. I scored over a 100 points greater on the real GMAT than I did on my diagnostic test. I was used to my tutor's practice questions, which I found to be much more difficult than the real test!
The one-on-one work with a TTP tutor was a huge help. It really simplified the problems and made them manageable and relatable. After working with my tutor for a month, I re-took the GMAT and scored a 630, a 70 point improvement. I've submitted my 1st batch of applications and after one week already interview invites!
I took the GMAT the first time without any tutoring and scored a 560, performing below my expectations on the Quantitative section. I knew I needed help.
Before I began studying for the GMAT, I did hours of research on the top test-prep companies and the services they provided. I ended up ordering a few books and online programs to get started, which helped me re-learn the basics in the math and verbal sections. However, I found that most of these materials were very general and did not cover specific territories in enough depth. As a result, my first two test scores were in the 500's. I realized that my level of competence with key subjects and my strategies for tackling 600 and 700 level questions weren't very strong. That's why I decided to find a personal tutor to help address my areas of weakness and develop sound strategies. I contacted several tutoring services, but ultimately decided to go with Target Test Prep because of its strong teaching method and attention to detail. My tutor advised that we would break down the test into manageable sections and key skills. Most importantly, we wouldn't move on to another section until I had a thorough understanding of a particular subject area. We went into detail on each subject until I felt completely comfortable with any related question. This method was very effective for me and helped raise my score to a 680. Getting help from Target Test Prep was definitely the most efficient and effective study method I used to prepare for the GMAT. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep for anyone who needs help re-learning the basics and developing the depth of skills needed for both verbal and math.
The first two times that I took the test, I got the same result: a disappointing 570 (Quant: 30th percentile/Verbal: 80th percentile). I was frustrated and discouraged. Self-study was clearly not working for me-that's when I decided to try tutoring. I found Target Test Prep, and consequently, I found a 710 (Quant: 68th percentile/Verbal 97th percentile). My tutor provided individualized, high-caliber instruction. He helped me understand the concepts being tested, dissect questions, and formulate a strategic plan to strengthen my weaknesses. He supplemented the material reviewed in our sessions with problems he wrote himself. It was incredibly helpful to have a robust bank of fresh problems to work on-repetition helped me develop a consistent problem-solving/reasoning approach. At first, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of long-distance instruction. I was pleasantly proved wrong. I was able to interact with my tutor as though he was sitting next to me even though, in reality, he was hundreds of miles and a time zone away. If self-study isn't working for you, seriously consider Target Test Prep . It's worth the investment. With TTP's assistance, I went from the 55th percentile to the 92nd percentile on the GMAT. It's clear to me that tutoring made all the difference. I highly recommend Target Test Prep. They are experienced, flexible, and personable. They provide the level of instruction that will allow you to reach your GMAT goals.
Target Test Prep provided me with the structure and expertise I was looking for in a GMAT tutor. The instructors were very accommodating and flexible. Not only was the tutoring custom fitted to my learning ability it also took into account the studying I had already done on my own. Most importantly, I went from a 580 to 720!!!
I decided to go to Target Test Prep for GMAT Quant training just 2 weeks prior to my test! In fact, I was contemplating whether to actually take the GMAT since my math scores on mock tests were rather poor. My TTP tutor reinstated the confidence that I needed and prepared me for the GMAT. My math score catapulted from the 40th percentile to almost the 70th! This score increase was directly related to my tutor's hard work. I would whole heartedly recommend Target Test Prep to anybody who wants to ace the GMAT. Way to go TTP!!
I was down to my last chance to take the GMAT. If I didn't meet the school's required score, my assistantship would be lost. That's when I found Target Test Prep online and began working with one of its tutors. This proved to be one of the smarter decisions that I've made in my academic career. I worked with my tutor for about two months, meeting twice a week for two hours a session. He started with the basics and his teaching style really seemed to fit my learning style. He taught me how to diagnose certain problem types and how to quickly determine the right answer choice. My tutor was not only extremely helpful during our lessons, but was also very accessible outside of them whenever I had questions or concerns. Without the help of my tutor, I would have been stuck and would not have achieved my GMAT goal. Prior to working with Target Test Prep, my best score on the quantitative section of the GMAT was the 23rd percentile, but after working with my tutor for the two months, my quant percentile skyrocketed to a surprising 68th percentile. This score alone almost proved to be enough to reach the required score for admission to my desired school. I would HIGHLY recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who is thinking about taking the GMAT or any other standardized test.
I had not studied math for many years prior to working with Target Test Prep to prepare for the GMAT. With their help and a lot of hard work, I was able to relearn all of the necessary math. Not only did I learn the math, but for the first time, it made complete sense to me. My tutor presented the information in a manner that was clear, concise, and completely applicable to the GMAT. In the end, I was able to raise my GMAT score over 100 points. Currently, I finishing up my MBA in Boston and considering pursuing a PhD in finance!
When I started studying for the GMAT, I sat down with a book, a pencil, and a bunch of practice problems. I focused on the math section, ignoring the verbal because I thought that English was my strength. After taking the GMAT for the first time, I was in for quite a surprise. I fell for all the GMAT tricks and only scored in the 28th percentile on the verbal section. I worked with a Target Test Prep verbal tutor for 10 hours over 3 weeks to prepare myself and avoid the rookie mistakes I made the first time. The next time I took the GMAT, I went from the 28th percentile to the 83rd percentile on the verbal section. I was ecstatic about the results from just a few private web-based sessions. The methodic step-by-step approach that I learned through my time with Target Test Prep allowed me achieve my GMAT goals. Now I'm finishing the first year of my MBA at The University of Michigan and am still grateful for what I was able to accomplish working with Target Test Prep.
Target Test Prep not only gave me the problem-solving strategies that I needed, but more importantly the confidence to achieve a 740 overall!!
As I prepared to take the GMAT, I realized my quantitative score just wasn't going to improve as much as I wanted through self-study alone. I went to Target Test Prep hoping to boost my score from the 60th to the 75th percentile.
With help of my tutor, I was able to exceed my goal and score in the 82nd percentile on the quantitative section. The one-on-one lessons allowed me to focus only on those subjects for which I needed the most help. During each session, I learned practical techniques for solving the types of problems I found most difficult. Going into the test center, I knew that the lessons had prepared me for the types of questions I was most likely to see. Target Test Prep not only gave me the problem-solving strategies that I needed, but more importantly the confidence to achieve a 740 overall!!
I had a great experience working with Target Test Prep to prepare for GMAT. My tutor knew exactly what my weaknesses were and what I had to do to correct them. He covered the GMAT material strategically and methodically. After 30 hours of private tutoring, my GMAT score increased 150 points, and as a result I was accepted at my top- choice MBA programs.
Working with Target Test Prep to prepare for the GMAT was a wonderful experience. They provided me with everything that I needed to master the GMAT content, improve my timing, and gain the confidence to get the GMAT score I needed. As an added bonus, I was able to leverage many of the skills I learned while studying the GMAT and apply them in my MBA program. I was ahead of the class as a result!
My tutor was more than helpful in sharing his knowledge about the GMAT exam with me. He is outgoing, upfront, and more than willing to offer his time to make sure that his students will succeed on test day. Target Test Prep is an affordable, well-crafted, program designed to aid students in cracking the quantitative GMAT sections. There is no other program like Target Test Prep! The program is extremely thorough and extensive. It even has performance analytics that pinpoint areas of weakness. The program helped me to increase my quantitative score by over 50% in less than one month. With more time, the results would have been even greater. I highly recommend Target Test Prep for anyone looking for quantitative GMAT help.
Target Test Prep has a great and intuitive program. I purchased the program and learned a lot of new tools and strategies to improve me GMAT math score. Because of Target Test Prep, I was able to land my dream offer to Cornell University for my MBA. I highly recommend Target Test Prep – it is the best GMAT preparation on the market.
I highly recommend Target Test Prep for anyone wishing to improve their score on the GMAT.
I took the GMAT in September of 2013. I began my preparation in June by taking an on-site prep course with Kaplan. I found the Kaplan instruction for the verbal section to be quite effective. However, for the quant section, I felt I needed something more. Kaplan focused on test strategy and time management. The instructor stated, quite correctly, that they did not have time to teach the breadth of quantitative skills covered in the GMAT. For this reason I sought out a tutor to help me relearn math skills I had not used since high school.
I found Target Test Prep via a Craigslist ad. They were more expensive than other tutors I found but they were very professional and responsive via email. I was also initially concerned about working over the Internet a combination of Skype and WebEx. However, I decided to work with them because I was impressed with our initial discussions and because they offered free access to their study materials and practice questions.
Their Target Test Prep platform was extremely helpful. It provided full written lessons and a deep set of practice questions presented in the same format as the GMAT itself. I worked with their questions and Kaplan’s quiz bank side by side and found the Target Test Prep questions to be substantially harder and more varied.
I started actively tutoring roughly five weeks before taking the GMAT. Despite working in an analytical field, I’ve never had any reason to maintain even the rudimentary math skills tested by the GMAT. Quite frankly, I had forgotten how to even foil a quadratic when I started tutoring. However, I let my tutor know I was interested in scoring higher than a 700 and he committed doing everything possible to get me there.
We worked our instruction times up on a weekly basis, and he was extremely flexible in working around my schedule. The WebEx & Skype tutoring method extremely effective and I actually felt I was able to stay focused in on the tutoring better than I would have in a physical environment. During the five weeks, we met about three times a week, twice for two hours and once for one hour.
The instruction was extremely targeted and very effective. We moved quickly through sections I mastered easily, and slowed down on things I struggled with. We also reviewed practice tests and went over the questions I needed to review.
Overall I was extremely pleased with my experience with Target Test Prep. In the five weeks of rigorous tutoring, I managed to improve my score from a 600 on my first practice test to a 740 on the actual GMAT. After working with the high difficulty questions presented by Target test prep, I didn’t find the actual test to be terribly challenging at all.
When I started studying for the GMAT I knew that the math section was going to be tough. I studied political science at Syracuse University for my undergraduate degree and hadn’t touched a math problem since high school. I started out trying to self-study, but it was incredibly frustrating when I had questions, and since I had been out of practice for so long a lot of the material made assumptions about what I already knew. My confidence was low and my progression through the material was slow and inefficient.
Working with TTP helped me more than I thought possible. My instructor began by rebuilding my math foundation and then used that foundation to attack the problems. He tailored a plan that addressed my weaknesses and enhanced my strengths. Once my skills and comfort level with the material increased, we started working on speed and strategy. The end result was an increase in my score by over 100 points from the day I started with TTP.
I have since achieved my MBA and currently work with numbers every day, where I still apply much of what I learned from him. I absolutely recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to improve their skills and their GMAT scores.
I started to study for the GMAT on my own and then by taking a Manhattan GMAT course. After I didn’t receive the GMAT scores that I was looking for, I began searching for a better option. My friend told me about Target Test Prep. I used the TTP online GMAT math self-study course. This course was a godsend, and I wish I had known about it from day one.
The course is brilliantly designed and can help even the most math-challenged of students beat the pants off the GMAT. There are thousands of practice questions with super-clear solutions. Additionally, each of the 20 chapters is filled with highly-useful content, strategies, and techniques. So many of the GMAT materials on the market are watered-down and/or poorly designed. TTP’s materials and course are by far the best way to master the math section of the GMAT.
If your goal is to beat your GMAT competition, I highly recommend Target Test Prep. You’ll have everything you need to beat the GMAT.
When studying hard for the GMAT, I realized that practice does not make perfect. In fact, proper practice with the most realistic GMAT prep materials makes perfect. With this idea in mind, I raised my score 110 points, from a 590 to a 700 (Q47, V40, AWA6). This brings me to Target Test Prep.
I had the pleasure of reviewing the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course. I found it to be the most comprehensive, clearly written, and student-friendly GMAT math preparation tool that I’ve come across. It embodies the idea that “proper practice makes perfect.”
When you use this resource, you learn to be a GMAT Jedi due to the 20 well-written chapters that are chock full of what every GMATer craves: killer content, score-raising strategies, and practical techniques.
After poring over the 20 chapters and the hundreds of high-value topics within them, you then use your newly found knowledge and sharpen your skills by practicing on more than 2000 realistic practice math problems (with super clear solutions), each of which is an opportunity to move a little closer to your ideal score.
The amazing thing about the program is that it truly teaches you the quantitative critical thinking skills that will allow you to earn an impressive GMAT score. By mastering these new critical thinking skills, you’ll be able to handle whatever the test makers throw at you. What a great feeling that is! After all, the GMAT tests you on your thinking skills. Why not optimize them? The Target Test Prep course promises to deliver, and deliver it does.
The quantitative curriculum taught by Target Test Prep is easily the most comprehensive and thoughtful offered anywhere. By the time I had found TTP, I had been through books published by Kaplan, Manhattan, Princeton Review and Veritas. Each book had either something glaringly wrong with its math skills review (eg. much harder than the test) or, even worse, misled me into thinking that its curriculum accurately reflected the test’s content. Almost $600 later in books, I took the test and did significantly worse than I expected to. I felt frustrated and even betrayed by these companies.
Enter Target Test Prep. I was initially reluctant to study online because I like being able to cart the books around with me. I feared I wouldn’t spend much time with their website. Additionally, I was reticent to use a tutor over Skype because I thought it lacked the personal qualities of an in-person meeting. On both accounts I could not have been more wrong. From Day 1 I could tell the curriculum was different. The entire “online textbook” felt both extensive and manageable. I scanned the list of chapters and thought “That’s it? This is doable.” I saw the road to a better score and I bought into their system. I didn’t work any harder than I had before I took my first test, but the curriculum forced me to work smarter by connecting the dots between concepts. I learned to anticipate answers and think like a GMAT question writer. I turned Data Sufficiency questions from obstacles into quick responses that allowed me to gain time back that I would need on the harder problem solving questions.
Perhaps the greatest compliment I can pay TTP is that there wasn’t a single question on the actual GMAT that I wasn’t ready for. The test threw me all of its tricks and I was ready for every single one. Going in I felt prepared. For a test that likes to think of itself as constantly staying ahead of the test-prep companies, I never felt like TTP’s curriculum was out of step (like I did with all the other companies). Everything I saw on the test was in some form or another something I had seen in a TTP chapter.
It should go without saying that the process was instrumental not only in boosting my knowledge base, but also in increasing my test-taking confidence. Although I spent almost all of my time with TTP on quant (aside from 5 hours with a fabulous verbal TTP tutor), I credit my improvements on math AND verbal to the TTP crew. In the end, my score jumped 110 points from the 72nd percentile to the 97th in four months. I credit the team at TTP, with taking my score to the level that I felt it should be.
If you find yourself similarly frustrated with all of the GMAT-prep companies, look no further than Target Test Prep. Spend the time with them and you’ll be amazed at how well you will do and how much they will take care of you as their student.
I worked with an awesome instructor at TTP. He had the ability to quickly identify areas in which I could get the greatest score increases. In the short period of time I worked with him, I was able to raise my GMAT score over 100 points. It was well work the investment and time!
After reading great reviews about Target Test Prep on “Beat the GMAT,” I decided to give it a try. I engaged TTP for private GMAT tutoring and purchased the TTP GMAT math course. These turned out to be the two smartest decisions I made while studying for the GMAT. With m tutor’s help, I scored a 720 on the GMAT.
By the time I found TTP, I had already been let down by Manhattan GMAT and by the results I got after going through its GMAT program. Even after working diligently, my quant skills were lacking, and I was in desperate need of help.
Thankfully my tutor was able to help. The clarity and insight that he provided me were invaluable. He made the GMAT come to life. My tutor is an excellent teacher, and he knows the GMAT cold. Working with him was a great experience. After each lesson, I knew so much more than I had known before, I had so many more efficient strategies, and I was so much better equipped to handle GMAT math and IR problems
In addition to the excellent private tutoring that I received, I greatly benefited from the TTP materials, which were spot on. I found that the TTP GMAT math course was presented in a pedagogically effective manner; each lesson module was clear, comprehensive, and in-depth. Its coverage of GMAT math is unmatched. The TTP materials blew the Manhattan GMAT materials away. The TTP course helped me to solve problems that other prep courses seem to ignore.
I don't believe I would have scored as well as I did if it hadn't been for how TTP strengthened my quant skills and helped me to understand how to conquer the test.
If you’ve tried the big companies such as Manhattan GMAT and have been let down, don’t give up. Instead, give TTP a try. I wish I had found TTP sooner and I highly recommend it!!
After not finding measurable success working with other GMAT prep companies, including Kaplan, I turned to Target Test Prep for help. What a great decision this was. After working with TTP, I was able to substantially increase my math GMAT score and gain acceptance into my top choice MBA program.
In my opinion, TTP is the creator of the best online math GMAT prep course on the market; it is easily the most comprehensive and thoughtful offered anywhere. My tutor’s approach and teaching style are motivational and concise. His course helped bring the math portion of the GMAT to life for me.
My tutor and I combined private math GMAT tutoring with the online math GMAT prep course. Everything we covered was clear, meaningful, comprehensive, and most importantly, directly transferable to the test. In a relatively short period of time, I was able to develop new ways of thinking about the math portion of the GMAT. I developed powerful critical thinking skills that I had been missing. I was able to see patterns, relationships, and trends that had previously eluded me.
I’m very pleased with the help I received, and I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who is preparing for the GMAT. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the big test prep companies have the monopoly on GMAT prep – in fact, in my experience, nothing could be further from the truth. I wish I had found Target Test Prep sooner than I did.
I had a great experience preparing for the GMAT with Target Test Prep. Their GMAT curriculum is first-class, and my tutor was awesome. The structured lessons and test questions allowed me to pinpoint my weak points and focus on specific GMAT quant subjects in addition to refreshing other math topics in which I was weak. I was a bit hesitant at first about the one-on-one online private tutoring because my tutor and I were in different states, but the online lessons were awesome. The WebEx meetings were ultra-flexible and allowed me to fit them in around my busy schedule. I felt that my tutor was sitting in the room with me. I highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone preparing for the GMAT; you will not be disappointed!
Target Test Prep provided me with incredible GMAT prep. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking to increase their GMAT quant score. I have used material from all of the other major GMAT prep companies, including Manhattan GMAT, Veritas, and Kaplan, and none of these companies’ materials or courses even came close to those of Target Test Prep. The TTP materials depth and breadth provide students with ample opportunities to fine tune all aspects of the quant section on the GMAT.
After earning an unsuccessful GMAT score on my first attempt, I turned to TTP for help. "The one-on-one, online tutoring that I received from Target Test Prep was outstanding! My tutor was responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The TTP system helped me to get "Back to Basics" and build a strong foundation of core GMAT skills. When I retook the GMAT, I was able to raise my score by almost 100 points. There’s no question that the help I received from TTP was essential in helping me earn the higher score.
After about three months of working with TTP, my GMAT score improved from a 650 to a 720 with the raw quantitative score jumping from a 44 to a 49 and the raw verbal score jumping from a 36 to a 40. I used the TTP math course, which was amazing, and obtained private tutoring, which was a great help.
Prior to working with Target Test Prep, I prepared for the GMAT using the course material from Veritas Prep and the official GMAT guides published by the GMAC. While the instruction from Veritas helped me develop a sound knowledge base on key GMAT topics, I remained inconsistent in my ability to correctly answer some of the most challenging quantitative and verbal problems. Furthermore, questions involving number properties, overlapping sets, and geometry concepts were among the most difficult for me to overcome. My tutor taught me strategies on how to break down even the most convoluted quantitative and verbal problems to a more granular and manageable level. In the end, the systematic approach to problem solving that I developed with his help enabled me to better manage my time and consistently solve difficult questions.
Given my lifelong struggle to conquer the standardized exam, I was skeptical that lifting my score into the 90th percentile range would ever be possible. Yet, TTP provided me the critical tools needed to achieve a solid GMAT score that should now make me a competitive candidate for admission to some of the top business schools in the country. I highly recommend Target Test Prep to all prospective students serious about achieving their full potential on the GMAT.
I found Target Test Prep while searching for ways to raise my GMAT quant score. Prior to working with TTP, I used Manhattan and Kaplan, but nothing seemed to stick, and my GMAT score reflected it. But within three weeks of working with the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course, with its detailed analytics, and with private tutoring from a TTP tutor to solidify concepts, I raised my score 100 points and now have a true shot at top-10 B-Schools! I can't speak highly enough of how user friendly the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course is; each lesson is followed by a diagnostic test, which you can control (length, difficulty level, etc.), that helps ensure you truly understand the material. Coupled with private tutoring from TTP, with its engaging and open tutoring style to help fine tune certain skills and uncover some of the "tricks" on the GMAT, there's no better way to raise your GMAT score. So if you're serious about raising your GMAT score, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course and private tutoring from TTP.
I started studying for the GMAT in May of 2013. I bought every GMAT book and resource I could find. I spent the entire summer taking a Princeton Review course. My score went from 550 to 520. Next, I took 2 online courses from two big prep companies. Still my GMAT score hovered in the low 500’s and even went down to 470. Around October, I found Target Test Prep. I was immediately blown away by how well my tutor taught. My math percentile went up from 30% to 58%! My tutor made all the difference and is the reason why I improved this much on the math section. You just have to try one session with TTP to realize that they will help you get any score you want. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who wants to kill the math section of the GMAT!
Working with Target Test Prep was a great experience. The curriculum is very thorough and covers all areas tested on the GMAT. The instructors take the time to make sure that you are prepared and that you can handle the stresses of test day. I strongly recommend using Target Test Prep for your GMAT preparation. I personally experienced significant increases in my verbal and quantitative scores.
I had not much luck with local tutors or with self-studying. I knew I needed a better option. Luckily, with a little research, I was able to find Target Test Prep. I began doing private GMAT tutoring with it. My Target Test Prep tutor and I formed a great relationship. He was able to push me harder when I was clearly not putting in enough time studying, and he was patient enough to carefully guide me through the numerous GMAT chapters in the TTP course. Both were invaluable to my success on the GMAT. Ultimately, I was able to earn the GMAT score I needed!
After months of struggling with GMAT math, I began working with Target Test Prep; this was a game-changer in my quest to conquer the GMAT. Target Test Prep has created the best online GMAT prep course on the market. After trying both the Kaplan and Manhattan GMAT classroom courses, I was still struggling with the math section of the GMAT, both from a content and strategy perspective. A friend recommended Target Test Prep to me and said that it had the best combination of content and personalized attention that she had seen. I couldn’t agree more.
My tutor very personable and was truly invested in the success of his clients. During each session, my tutor took me through high value content and examples and then drilled me with practice questions to make sure I mastered each concept before moving to the next. For me, the thing that set Target Test Prep apart from other online GMAT prep courses was the superior detail with which concepts were explained and re-explained in lessons and practice questions. This clarity of knowledge and mastery of skill that I gained was absolutely key. I had struggled immensely with other companies’ test prep products because I would get a question wrong, look at the explanation, think "Ah, ok," moving on without really understanding what I did wrong. TTP doesn't let that happen and is willing to take you through concepts again in order to make sure they stick.
The Target Test Prep curriculum is extremely robust and the user experience is perfectly intuitive. TTP has done a fantastic job of dividing lessons by subject, utilizing practice problems and thorough explanations to make each topic easy to understand. For people like me who need step-by-step reminders of how to do certain problems, Target Test Prep is perfect. You can "star" or "favorite" certain lessons and the practice questions are invaluable. The developers have done an amazing job of putting together a course that covers GMAT content and testing strategy. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who is studying for the GMAT. I wish I had started with Target Test Prep earlier instead of wasting time and money on other products! I would absolutely recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who needs help studying for the GMAT!
TTP’s outstanding GMAT curriculum was a huge key to my successful GMAT preparation. After two disappointing GMAT attempts studying on my own, I signed up for TTP and never looked back. The program is comprehensive and intuitive. The curriculum focused my self-studying and gave me confidence going into test day. The targeted program helped me identify patterns and succinct approaches to even the toughest GMAT problems. The worst part? Studying was so simple and the techniques were so interesting that preparing or the GMAT actually became kind of fun…as embarrassing as that is to admit! The final result? A solid +50 points from my starting point. Thanks, TTP.
Target Test Prep really came through for me. Four weeks out from the exam my practice test scores remained in the mid to lower half of the 600s despite my hard work with a Kaplan course and practice problems. The principal issue was my inability to raise my math score. I'd read through all the Kaplan materials by that point and was left with just practice problems - this work was not translating into a higher math score. And frankly, there are only so many hours in a week to devote to studying, and so my frustration level was growing with this unproductive study pattern.
Luckily, I found the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course as I was searching online for more help. After speaking with TTP and looking over the free trial, I was sure I had found the help I needed. The GMAT Math curriculum is laid out beautifully and allowed me to ACTUALLY LEARN the math topics in-depth. A clear example was the combination and permutations section. For whatever reason, these question types always tripped me up, and I finally realized it was that I simply didn't truly understand how they work. After going through TTP's combinatorics section, for the first time the light went on and I was able to attack the problems. Both the materials and the clear explanations got me there. This pattern repeated itself several more times during my studies. As I began to finally really grasp some of the harder math concepts for the first time, my TTP tutor was able to solidify my knowledge through a targeted, comprehensive series of private GMAT lessons. My tutor has a real command of what makes students struggle and how to overcome these roadblocks to progress. Additionally, I felt my time with him was put to maximum use and I got more than my money's worth.
Long story short, we worked together a couple times a week for four weeks (and I put in some more time on my own) and on test day I finally broke through for a 710!
I was willing to work hard, but I didn't know how to really learn the concepts (rather than just memorize some question types and tricks) and then apply that knowledge effectively. Gaining true GMAT knowledge is exactly what Target Test Prep enabled me to do. I'd urge anyone to go with this service as soon as they can.
I reached out to Target Test Prep in April 2013. At that time, I had taken the GMAT once, scoring in the 11th percentile. While working two jobs, it had become very hard to find the time and motivation to prepare for the exam. I decided to find a tutor to help me stay focused and force me to study because it was obvious that I was unable to do these things by myself. We then decided to meet for tutoring, via webinar, once or twice a week at my convenience. He provided an amazing online GMAT math curriculum that Target Test Prep had created. The website broke down the Quantitative section of the GMAT into chapters and also provided various chapter tests and custom tests. The website's easy access for my iPad and iPhone made it even more convenient for me to study any time, any where. With this material at my finger tips and my tutor’s expert tutoring, I could tell the outcome would be a success. The people at Target Test Prep have a genuine interest in helping others get their target score. My tutor’s positive attitude and outlook helped me believe in myself and my overall confidence with the GMAT. As a result, I was able to accomplish my goal and increase my score by 150 points. I would recommend Target Test Prep to any student who is studying for the GMAT!
Preparing for the GMAT is a difficult task, and Target Test Prep provided me with curriculum that really focused my studies for the quantitative portion of the test. I was able to improve my GMAT score by 140 points with the help of Target Test Prep.
After attending an online GMAT class by a competitor and working hard with self-study, I was still disappointed with my practice GMAT test scores, especially when it came to the quantitative section. I found Target Test Prep and began working with one of its tutors and using its GMAT math course. I was able to increase my understanding of the basic quantitative skills needed to master the test and increase my overall understanding of the concepts that I would need to apply. The GMAT curriculum was both broad and deep, providing a wide lens of all the possible topics you might see on the GMAT and numerous opportunities to practice and apply these topics in different situations. Specific sections in the curriculum that highlighted “Must Know” facts were essential in building a strong deck of note cards from which I could study and drill. Once I was able to commit the necessary time to studying and applying new skills through numerous TTP practice problems, I found I had access to all the resources I needed to be successful. I was able to increase my percentage in quant from 20% to 61% and received a total score of 680 on my actual exam.
Target Test Prep was the right GMAT prep partner for me. The comprehensive approach taken during our tutoring sessions along with the robust mix of lessons and practice questions enabled me to lift my score 100 points! The tutors at Target Test Prep are not only proficient instructors but also excellent coaches and supportive accountability partners. They were committed to my success on the exam, and I would strongly encourage anyone seeking to go beyond self-study to consider the team at Target Test Prep.
I started studying for the GMAT using a 9 book curriculum, which translated into a prolonged process and yielded mediocre results. I knew I needed a different platform to leverage moving forward. That’s when I found Target Test Prep. TTP has a nearly unlimited number of realistic practice GMAT problems and test environments that strongly correlate to the testing environment on the quant portion of the actual GMAT. The course does a great job identifying score-enhancing techniques. I enjoyed the web-based format and the fact that the curriculum was centered around each topic on the GMAT. I found the course much more effective than the books I had used, and I gained a significant amount of knowledge and confidence going into my second attempt at the exam.
What an incredible find! I stumbled upon the Target Test Prep team after a frustrating and disappointing experience with Kaplan. The Target Test Prep Team's in depth, thorough, and easy to navigate GMAT coursework and quizzes made studying not only engaging but productive. Combined with exceptional one-on-one tutoring with the Target Test Prep team, I was able to raise my score by 50 points in a less than 3 weeks. I only wish I had been able to work with them sooner - I have no doubt that my scores could have gone even higher.
A mere 10 days after submitting my applications with the new and vastly improved GMAT score, I was asked to interview with three schools and have already received an acceptance (with scholarship!) to my first choice. I have no doubt that a huge part of this unbelievably quick acceptance was due to the strength the schools saw in my GMAT score.
Thank you TTP for your innovative and incredibly successful GMAT prep!
After trying unsuccessfully to raise my GMAT on my own I turned to Target Test Prep in hopes of finally earning that elusive "target" score. My instructor’s professionalism and accountability helped me gain the skills needed to move forward with my MBA application. If you're looking for great one-on-one help and value diagnostic work to help identify problem areas then, TTP is the company for you. I also used the excellent GMAT math prep book complete with thousands of examples and thorough explanations of each question. Finally, TTP put me in touch with a number of admission folks at the schools in which I was interested. TTP turned into a one-stop shop, and I couldn't be more thankful.
Just got a call from Chicago Booth and was accepted into their MBA program beginning this fall. Without Target Test Prep, there is absolutely no chance I'd have been able to pull this off; particularly in the 5 week window I had to prep for the GMAT and take the exam. The TTP study material is absolutely brilliant and helped build a great foundation that gave me confidence heading into the exam. I highly, highly, highly recommend TTP. TTP has a great team and will figure out how to modify their own approach to position you as well as possible. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in learning more about TTP and its methodology.
TTP was instrumental in my preparation for the GMAT. The curriculum is detailed, covers all concepts and strategies, and is formatted in a way that is easy to learn. The TTP team takes the time to get to know the clients and ensures that you are armed with the tools and mental preparation necessary to succeed. I strongly recommend Target Test Prep. Its approach and guidance helped increase my score by 90 points!
The tutoring that I received from Target Test Prep was unbelievably awesome. I was in a tough spot when I reached out to TTP. I needed some drastic improvement on the GMAT Quant section. I started working with my tutor once a week, and he and I methodically went through the Target Test Prep Online Math Self Study Course. The material was very comprehensive, more so than any other GMAT prep course I tried, but more importantly it was very easy to understand and retain. My tutor felt more like a good friend who was teaching me math instead of a math tutor. My tutor was also a great coach and sounding board during the process; he truly cared about my success on the GMAT. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone looking for some significant improvement on the GMAT Quant section.
I had a great experience working with Target Test Prep to prepare for the GMAT. I used its online GMAT math course to self-study for the GMAT while working with one of its tutors. Both were fantastic!
The TTP math course is the only course you’ll need for your GMAT quant review! Prior to using the TTP math course, I took a competitor’s entire course (which also cost double the money) that did a poor job of explaining the logic behind many of the math concepts. I didn’t really learn what I needed. This was not the case with the TTP quant course, where each concept is presented clearly and in a logical way with great examples that allow for thorough understanding. The course also had so many other valuable features. I loved being able to build my own assessments, combining as many of the lessons that I wanted to test my understanding and progress. I found the explanations that were provided in the review tool of the assessment very helpful. The review also referenced the lesson at the bottom so I could navigate back to the appropriate section and review. This feature helped a lot. Overall, the course was great!
I’d highly recommend Target Test Prep to help any student get over the hurdles of studying, to stay focused, and to earn a successful GMAT score.
My Target Test Prep tutor and the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course were a great help to me in achieving the GMAT score I was aiming for. Thanks to the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course I was able to brush up on a lot of math skills I had not used in years. The ability to follow a well designed and in-depth curriculum helped me out the most, as I was able to build up on the skills I needed at my own pace while still working. The Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course was very simple and easy to use and each lesson built upon the last, making each new subject easy to understand.
By the time I started working with the Target Test Prep Tutor I did not have much time to continue studying, so the tutor worked with me on the areas he felt would be the most difficult and walked me through the ways to solve each type of problem. Because of the help Jeff was able to give me and the studying I was able to do through the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course I was able to achieve the GMAT score I needed to get accepted into the college I was looking at.
Jeff and TTP played a fundamental role in achieving my GMAT score. Before starting with Jeff I had been studying for the GMAT by myself, but my practice test’s scores were far from my target score. Then I started tutoring with Jeff while also using the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course and I could feel the difference right away, the combination of the two I believe is what can really make the difference in your quant score. Jeff is a great tutor, he is very clear, extremely knowledgeable and very good in always giving to you questions that are challenging yet right for you in that specific moment. Jeff’s approach to the test is extremely well organized, he identifies your weaknesses and works on them with you, and this really made the difference for me. At the same time Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course allows you to practice specifically and in depth on each topic in a very organized and systematic way, consolidating your knowledge on each topic. The result was that after approximately three months working with Jeff I had not only improved my quant skills but also my overall approach to the GMAT exam, mainly in terms of time management and confidence. On the actual test I managed to score over 700 and a lot of it is thanks to Jeff and TTP.
Before I contacted Target Test Prep, I had been studying for 3 months using Kaplan’s Services and was disappointed after scoring below my target score. In searching for an alternative approach to boost my quant score, I was lucky enough to come across Target Test Prep GMAT Course. Unlike Kaplan’s course that focuses on just strategy, Target Test Prep gave me tangible Quant skills. I went from being able to narrow down the answer choices to a couple of answers through strategy to being able to do the math and know without a doubt the right answer. I was able to meet with Jeff (my tutor) more often and focus more on the GMAT material. Unlike other tutors, who treat you like you're just a face in the crowd, Jeff showed genuine concern about my progress and kept my confidence up, even when I doubted my abilities. He knew my exact skill level and stretched my abilities every time we met. Furthermore, because the program breaks down each category of the GMAT, you can focus on specific skills before moving to the next category. This approach better identifies strengths and weaknesses and allows you to really concentrate on each subject. TTP helped me boost my GMAT score 100 points in 4 weeks…that's an incredible jump, and makes me competitive for top MBA programs! My Quant score went up more than 25 points and 30 percent. So far, my target schools have been more impressed by the significant jump than my overall score, showing my ability to learn complex Quant subjects in a short period of time. I highly recommend TTP.
I whole-heartedly recommend the Target Test Prep Course. Prior to working with Jeffrey Miller, my tutor from Target Test Prep, I had worked with tutors from both Kaplan and Veritas. The other tutors managed to help me bring my score up slightly, but it was nothing as rigorous as Jeffrey's systematic approach, which increased my score by 110 points in a matter of 5 weeks.
First, a bit about my background. I'm foreign-born and a non-native English-speaker. I was raised in Brazil, where standardized exams differ greatly from those in the US. The GMAT was the first test in which I'd ever been timed so strictly, and it was an incredibly stressful experience for me. Also, I physically reside in Japan, so I needed someone who had a system to work with me remotely, via Skype or some other method. Finally, although English is a second language for me, I was testing consistently higher in the verbal portion than the quantitative portion of the GMAT. I needed a good tutor who could address all of these issues.
I found Target Test Prep online with a simple Google search. Like I mentioned, I'd worked with a few tutors previously, so I sort of knew what I was looking for. What immediately attracted me to Target Test Prep was its systematic approach to tutoring. What I mean by that is the Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course provides a strong foundation for the quantitative section of the GMAT. It is incredibly thorough and fills any knowledge gaps in all sections of the actual exam. This was a critical element that made the course so effective. Other tutors have good advice, good shortcuts, but none of the ones I worked with had a systematic approach to learning.
My approach: I used a combination of the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course and the quant tutor, Jeffrey Miller. The course is set up for the user to methodically review GMAT quantitative material by topic – such as number properties, geometry, coordinate geometry, etc. Since I was short on time, Jeff helped me strategize – I took a diagnostic test, using Target Test Preps online course, and selected topics that needed the most work. I would read each chapter, do a practice test, and each week review questions I had with Jeffrey. During our tutoring sessions, Jeffrey used a combination of a white board and Skype; I was concerned that this system may be cumbersome but I found that it was actually quite effective. Through this process – 1) study a topic; 2) take a practice test on the chapter; and 3) review with the tutor – I was able to comprehensively cover most of my weak areas and fill in knowledge gaps.
I’d like to take a minute to talk about the software – the “Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course.” I think it’s worth mentioning because it was an absolute essential part of my course package. My understanding is that it was developed by Scott Woodbury-Steward over a period of several years. It is a very flexible software program that allows you to test yourself on various topics with varying levels of difficulty. The questions are very similar to actual questions one would see on the actual GMAT. This was my foundation to learning quant topics – I spent 2-3 hours on this program a day and found my math skills improve significantly in a matter of 5 weeks. This is what separates Target Test Prep from other GMAT Prep packages – there is nothing else out there like it, believe me, I searched. I have many quant books and the material covered in those don’t even begin to compare to the depth of content displayed in the software.
Lastly, I’d like to highlight Jeffrey’s teaching style. He was patient, thorough, and most importantly, really helped to develop my confidence. He was always positive, even when I wasn’t, and anyone who’s taken this exam knows that half of it comes down to being confident when you walk in the room on test day. Although very subjective, this should not be overlooked, and Jeffrey really helped in this respect.
My target was in the mid to high 600s – I jumped 110 points in exactly five weeks and hit my target. It was a grueling process – about 20 hours of studying and 3 hours of tutoring per week. But if you’re going to put that kind of time into this endeavor, then it’s worth every penny to hire the right people to get you there. A combination of my perseverance and Target Test Prep tutoring allowed me to hit my target. Thank you guys!
I first heard about the Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course when Jeff did a free online webinar at my alma mater University of Maryland. I needed some sort of study structure to help me study for the GMAT. Jeff was able to provide an in depth study guide for the quantitative section with overviews of various math topics ranging from linear equations to permutations.
This software was the only thing i used to study for the quantitative section and I was able to score a 47 raw score on the quantitative section which put my overall score in the range of my target programs. The skills I learned through target test prep enabled me to score that high on the quant and I just wanted to extend my thanks
Jeff and the Target Test Prep system were a huge help. In just a short time, I achieved the jump I needed in the quant score. Jeff was always punctual, patient and encouraging. I highly recommend him as a tutor!
Target test prep's curriculum helped me score 48 on my GMAT quant. I think question style specific design on curriculum is great and will be helpful to anybody who is aiming to score high on the quant section of GMAT.
Awesome experience with Target Test Prep. There no nonsense, no gimmick approach really helped me systematically identify my errors and gaps in knowledge that were preventing me from achieving a high GMAT score. I would recommend Target Test Prep to anyone trying to find a surefire way to increase their quant score on the GMAT.
Target Test Prep gave me the skills and knowledge I needed to receive above my target score on the GMAT. By the time I decided that I wanted to go to grad school, I only had 6 weeks to prepare for the GMAT. I decided to receive private tutoring from Jeff to get the most out of studying. While on a budget, and also busy being a full time student, I was only able to meet with Jeff one hour per week, which really made a HUGE difference. Jeff was excellent at reviewing material that I haven't seen in a while, as well as teaching me new topics. With the Target Test Prep online course and the fantastic guidance from Jeff, I was able to do far better than I expected. I recommend the combination of Target Test Prep and Jeff to anyone who wants to crush the GMAT.
Scott and Jeff have created the best online GMAT prep course on the market. After trying both the Kaplan and Manhattan GMAT classroom courses, I was still struggling with the math section of the GMAT, both from a content and strategy perspective. A friend recommended Target Test Prep to me and said that it had the best combination of content and personalized attention that she had seen. From the first time I logged on, this was the case for me. The Target Test Prep Online GMAT Math Self-Study Course is extremely robust and the user experience is perfectly intuitive. Scott has done a fantastic job of dividing lessons by subject, utilizing practice problems and thorough explanations to make each topic easy to understand. For people like me who need step-by-step reminders of how to do certain problems, Target Test Prep is perfect. You can "star" or "favorite" certain lessons and the practice questions are invaluable. Scott has done an amazing job of putting together a course that covers GMAT content and testing strategy. I would highly recommend Target Test Prep to anyone who is studying for the GMAT. I wish I had started with Target Test Prep earlier instead of wasting time and money on other products!
